I think it's because if people weren't getting crazy good hands, the pokersites wouldn't have as much traffic as they do. If people weren't getting hands and there were lots of wins with just a high card then people wouldn't be as excited to play online. So, I believe that the software has an algorithim to make sure that that SOMEONE will get a killer hand, even if it's on the river, or especially if it's on the river. I've had so many bad beats, but I've learned to play decent, taking into consideration that there's likely an "impossible" hand out there and played good enough to turn 20cents I won from a freeroll into a $10 bankroll.
so yeah, imo the bad beat hands on thr river are just an extra marketing scheme to keep people playing and feeling lucky, or good.

Totally agree^^^^^. Bad beats Happen all the time, players get rivered all the time, you just probably see it more...or I mean notice it more on line because 1.) The obvious answer...you are gonna see way more hands per hour on line compared to live, and 2.)On line there are so many people who will fish it to the river and people who have no concept of folding, so there are way more opportunities to see these river rats play out.

The craziest hands I have seen have been live :
1. Ace /rag came from behind to beat pocket Kings when the flop was A A A.
2. I came from behind (aii in pre-flop) with A 10 to beat Pocket QQ when the flop was J J K, turn was J and river ........ J !!!!
Boy was the other guy upset !!!!

People also play a lot looser online. It's easy to call someone down to the river.. Just a mouseclick.

there is always going to be bad beats just learn to play as to not have all your chips in unless there is no way your gonna lose the hand and if that means waiting to the river to come before pushing it all in than thats what ya do

I see it to man.. And your asking the wrong people casue these people will defend online poker tell they die. Yes you play alot more hands and it might make you see it that way. 2 things I see that are different from live play . In tourneys small stack goes in deep in tourney they never win. Sorry but in my expirience they have never won never. Also a big big difference is that aces come up way to much more than live play. Im very certain that aces come up more in online than live in my play online and live. That is what I have seen not anyone else but me...

It is noticable to me that the people who agree with the "online poker is rigged" threads are normally people who are new to poker.

Yes, it seems like you get your good hands beaten more regular, but this is down to the number of hands played, nothing more, nothing less.

I remember the first time I played B&M poker. I got bust out my KK v the other guys 1010 - rigged

It's the same by me, I play on fulltilt poker, and nearly every third hand I play
I've got rivered. It isn't so that it were a coin flip, the other player (mostly donks)
have 8-15% outs on the river unbelieveable!!
