I have recently had to take a step back and take my poker game to the absolute basics despite at some points playing $5\$10 and even some $10\$20 cash game poker with fairly consistent positive results.
At one point I even played at the Commerce Casino for about 6 months primarily all $5/$10 and had over 40 profitable sessions in a row.
There is some amount of anger that I cannot control. Before, after losing in a hand due to a bad beat or maybe suckout, if the cards following the hand were very premium, I could use my anger and give the illusion that I was steaming, when in reality I was just catching cards immediately following a suck-out bad beat.
This is an excellent strategy as players will often call down much lighter when they assume someone is on tilt.
However, doing this with very weak cards is a recipe for disaster and compounds losses due to bad variance.
Is this something that come with age? I am really struggling to deal with just sitting there at the table live after just getting a bad beat from a player near me,
