Hi,

I'm an assistant producer and am researching and developing a documentary for BBC3 on young Poker players. I am looking to speak to young people who are passionate about the game and are making a sizable amount of cash from it. I really just want an insight into people's relationship with the game, and with the money that they win.

I'm also looking to speak to young professional players - people like John Tabatabi - the Welsh player - does anyone know how I might be able to get hold of him.

Here are my contact details if you'd like to give me a call.

Thanks

Jess

I don't know of anywhere in the world, live or online, where it is legal for anyone to gamble under the age of 18. You would think that someone from a network division like "BBC3" would have done their research. "Strike one!" in the credibility department.

does that mean there anrn't any 16 or 17 year olds playing poker online?

i watched a show on the learning or discovery channel about people with drug problems. they would go with them to buy and when they shot up.

i'm not sure what playing poker illegal has anything to do with someone cred. in this instance.

Just my opinion, but this whole thing seems rife with political rather than "scientific" overtones. You want to focus on a younger age group. So what's the significance of that in light of the importance the game has played in American and English culture and, in more recent times, on the world community (in large part thanks to the internet)? Perhaps the media would be better off serving their viewers by portraying the poker community without a "slant".
