can anyone tell me what this video says? My computer won't let me run it for som reason.

<mod edit - removed link....it leads to a .exe file, not a video - this is most likely a virus/trojan horse, especially since you said it came out at a poker table>

Looking at it again makes me wonder if it's real. Someone came spamming this link in a chatbox on a table I was playing. The Grammar though doesn't look like it's legit.

^^^^^

I don't know if it's that or not but either way, it's good to see some buzz about it. Especially since it's on "our side". It's just a matter of time really.

FYI...I pulled the link in the first post because it did not lead to a video. The link leads to an executable which is most notably either a virus or trojan horse (though I'd guess the latter as this was distributed in a poker chat room).

On line poker has NEVER been illegal in the US, either now or in the past. The new Unlawful Internet Gaming Act made it illegal for financial institutions to transfer money to the sites. It said nothing about an individual's right to play the game. Get educated here.

Sorry to nitpick, but I feel this is an important distinction to make, and that casually tossing around misinformation can only hurt the cause of poker players everywhere.

I do believe it is Illegal in some states, Washington, Hawaii, and Nevada and a few more have laws against online poker. Nevada is the odd one in the group.

I know it is not illegal to play. Sorry for generalizing, I should have phrased it better. What I meant was are they figuring out a way to make funding and extracting from our accounts the way it should be.

errr scan your pc's now with whatever antivirus program you use. Any spammed link that leads to an exe file can't be good. Have fun with the popups :)

It was most likely a "bot" spamming a message in there. Have you ever played in Yahoo Games? Similar type thing happens there, but I don't think they really care to do anything about it.

I would do this. Always have Ad-ware SE and Hijack This!, as well as Spybot, and a registry cleaner on your computer for times of emergencies. I don't think I have to mention you should be running some type of symantec/Norton antivirus ALL OF THE TIME, do I? Believe me, I've saved a PC or two in my day. If you're not using Mozilla/Firefox or haven't been, it is an excellent idea to switch over NOW, especially if you're still using Internet Explorer in an old operating system. Probably any OS but Vista. If any of you start to have problems, feel free to PM me.

It is illegal at the state level in many places, Washington State being a good example. At the federal level the question has never been answered conclusively.
