I know, this may seem like an uninteresting topic and the internet is probably full of sites with lists like "the 10 best poker movies (the seventh will surprise you)". But besides poker, chess and puzzles, I love movies. So I open this thread hoping to receive some recommendations on movies related to poker or card games. Notice that I have already seen "21 blackjack" and "Rounders". About the latter, I saw her a long time ago but if I remember correctly (SPOILERS), the tell that Matt Damon discovered in the villain and let him know when he was making a bluff, was it that the man ate a cookie? Actually, the moment I saw her I found this quite stupid. Was the man really going to be so obvious? But maybe I didn't understand it or I don't remember it well. Well, I await your recommendations!

Here is another thread with lots of good suggestions. Enjoy!

I advise you to see the movie Molly's Game and the Kid of Cyncinati. Of course, he has a cult poker scene in movies that have nothing to do with poker.

like Trinity - Poker scene

or The Sting - poker game

I think that the main problem with poker-related films, is that because it's so hard to film the action of playing poker in a visually-interesting films, these films only show dramatic hands, like a royal and straight credibility, which hurts the film's credibility. How many royal flushes have you had in your poker-playing life? In cinema, this is commonplace.

I watched "Lucky", "Bluff", "Shuler", "Mavarik", "King of Poker".
And you know that a film about poker players is being shot at the wsop 2019. Last year, Sandra More released a book called “The Black Widow of Poker” under the pseudonym Sia Leith before the world series of poker. The work was dedicated to girls playing poker. In the same year, Mor conceived another project. The girl is filming the documentary "Queen of Poker". The film will allow you to look at the world of poker game through the eyes of girls. In her film, several famous poker players will appear. In addition, the girls themselves will shoot their game at the WSOP. Mor has given cameras to everyone, so that viewers will be able to see the girls' path to the WSOP bracelets in the first person.Sandra More promises that in the next film we will see poker stars such as Maria Ho, Kristen Bicknell, Liv Boeri and many others. Part of the picture will be shot in a hotel room where girls will live. The premiere will take place in November 2019.

Hello.
One year ago, I watched a movie "Molly's Game".
Interesting movie but only for one-time viewing.
Agreed, enjoyable for a weekend movie - once. The book was much much better.

The Sting is good because the actors are top class. Revealing the shocking fact that poker can be rigged is what makes it even better.
the final hand in rounders is something we'd all like to pull off.

Once upon a time I watched the film Maverick. I didn’t play poker then. I liked the movie.

I think the worst poker-related film that I've ever seen is Shade, which starred Sylvester Stallone. Like so many poker-related films, Shade was full of tired cliches and is completely unbelievable. There are several scenes in which players get royal flushes, four of a kind, straight flushes, which is a substitute for the creation of character development and suspense.

I recall the Sting, Maverick and Cincinnati Kid.
I like the movies like 'Casino Royale' with Daniel Craig and new Ocean's.
There is also the movie Runner, Runner with Ben,Justin and Gemma.
Oh, and 'Havana' with Robert Redford.
