There are 2 answers to this. There is the technical but misleading answer, and there is the commonly understood answer.
The technical but misleading answer is: as long as poker is your main source of income, then you're a professional poker player, even if you're living in poverty and winning only $1 per day.
The commonly understood answer is: your average income from poker should be at least the median income of a citizen in your country. So if you're from the US, you'd be expected to win an average of at least $1000 per week from poker before you have the right to call yourself a professional poker player (otherwise you're just a wannabe pro).
