Let's tell about how poker affects your life. Has your life better after the start of playing poker? Or maybe it became worse? What consequences poker entailed?

My nerves are suffering

I'm the opposite. I'm nervous just in poker. But I hurt my wife, if she makes a stupid mistake in the game. A couple of times she and I already swear because of this.

In the short term it depends of I was up or down during my last session.

Long term I make a little bit of extra money. Not maybe people are lucky enough to have an additional source of income.

Depending on how far I go in a tourney and for what stupid reason I lose (dude went all-in with A2 and I had AK - it was a $22 bounty builder so of course I jumped in- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand he made a stupid *uckin straight out of nowhere) it really ruins my day

I will not even talk to anyone in a decent way, I'm going to be rude and not a little bit polite and a lot of other things (normally I'm the most polite and educated guy)

so it affects my life REALLY deep

On the other hand, if I win I start to feel really good with myself and with other people around and tend to be so more extrovert than I really am that almost everyone notice it (I'm really an introvert and don't talk that much, but in those situations I'm suddenly hugging people and stuff.. hahaha) - but those thing in brazil, hugging and touching another person friendly, with no sexual intention, is really something very commom)

Learning to play poker has taught me many things I needed in my every day life. My anger is gone. I have learned to be more patient and not try to make things happen that I really have no control over. I've learned that if I want something, I have to go after it and not give up. I've learned to set a goal out there a ways and set little ones along the way so I can reach that big one. I've learned to believe in myself and to be as positive as I can. But I have to realize I'm human and there are always going to be those days when I can't even stand myself or anything else. I've learned if I need help, ask for it, and use it, and be greatful I'm in a place where I can get the answers for my problems.from people that understand what I'm going through because they have been there themselves. I think I could add a few more so just this last one. I have learned how to really play poker from the players right here at CC, and I think I don't need to hunt any where else for the advice I need. GL you all

It depends on the type of poker for me. Brick and mortar, has been a strong support of extra income over the years. Online, it has prepared me better for playing brick cash games and events but has not shown nearly the return on investment. I'm more of a read based player who is strong on math and I'm able to estimate rather quickly now because of online poker. I' torn between the two to be completely honest. The amount of 'luck' others concern as variance by submitting more 3-4 players into a hand they start largely behind in compels my thinking but it too is a work in progress.

Short answer, YES problem solving is good for a persons brain! handling the failed results in understanding that poker has no guarantees and the numbers we use are predictions NOT outcomes seems to be the first of many hurdles in enjoying the game long term.

In the past , in the beginning it brang joy and happiness to my daily routine as I discovered a very good hobby. But after a lot of losses on cash games it started to make me feel more and more tilted , nervous, anxious about when Iwould win at last ... After 10 months all this stopped as I stared bankroll management ,so since then I enjoy a good hobby , I might not earn money but I neither lose .

if we talk about poker as a whole and not for individual tournaments , the poker game takes more time . Sometimes even I have to listen to his wife ... ;-) But it's like playing poker :)

Everytime I tilt something in the house is going to be destroyed

poker effects

I play in low stake cash games. The problem is logistics. I have to drive overt hours each way to the nearest casino. I have put enough time in at the tables to earn two free hotel rooms per week(Sun-Thurs only). My days off are
Wed & Thur, so this fits my schedule. The problem is that I end up spending all my days off playing poker. Sure it is fun and I make a few bucks, but actually it is a steep price to pay.

Hello friend of the forum, personally to outside of poker i have a quiet life, go out with friends, study, work, I am with my family and I go with my girlfriend. I think I have a quiet life which leads to the poker to maintain a balance. Clear this that if things go wrong outside of the tables, will also evil within them. Greetings

Due to the work on poker remains very little time.
Perhaps all those who work in the office - play poker? :))
I would and did, poker is very fascinated.
