poker host question

hi everyone,

has anyone had success depositing/withdrawing

funds at poker host. when i tried to withdraw

funds in my account(not bonus dollars) i was denied and

told how i first had to make a deposit then play

5 hands for every dollar to release them.

my question is has amyone done this and been

satisfied with the results?

then after this process were you able to play

and withdraw normally?

I have an idea...play at a different site. Seriously.

If you hadn't made a deposit yet, where did your account balance come from? A lot of new players get confused over what constitutes bonus dollars. Anything they "give" you to start playing on at a site is basically bonus dollars. There are always strings attached. Most of the time you do have to invest some of your own money before you can withdraw any of theirs, or any of your winnings off of theirs.

I found this out the hard way at Noble Poker when I received a $10 "new player bonus" for opening an account, grew it to a bit over $300 playing ring games in three weeks, then tried to cash out $100 of it to deposit on another site. I was told that before I could make any withdrawals, I had to make a real money deposit in the minimum amount of what I was withdrawing. In other words, to get $100 of what I won from their new player money, I had to deposit $100. Didn't make much sense, so I just blew it all on one big buy-in freeroll.

you made a cash deposit and they denied you the withdrawl untill you played so many hands? that is ridiculous i would demand my money in full now!!!!it is your money, but any bonus money that you received depositing,will not be able to withdraw untill you play the raked hands ,that makes sense.. good luck racefanswife

i think that some of the casino sites are very rigged so to speak..at the very least,they know when your about to reach the cashout limits and can make you lose right up till then..you win at the very beginning so youll deposit thinking that maybe you can win cause you did a little..as much as they allowed and then they shut the door when near cashout!!!! raqcefanswife

my money so far is from freerolls. no cash deposit yet.

my understanding is that after the deposit my

winnings from then on will be available for withdrawl.

Pokerhost does not have the best reputation around. I originally deposited $50 there and played some, but never cared for it. When I tried to withdraw my money the gave me the same line about playing raked hands to release the bonus. I said I just want my money forget the bonus. After 3 emails and some help from a forum owner who has many unhappy posts in her forum about them, I got my money. She pulled her promotions for their site also. They had freerolls there every week but you had to play 5 raked hands for every dollar won to withdraw it.

Too many good pokersites around to waste your time with the bad ones!

RammerJammer: so if I won some cash at a cardschat freeroll at noble and then grew it up a little .... can't I withdraw??? ... unless I deposit first?

just recieved this email from poker host

defining what a raked hand is:


"Regarding your question and the information given you in our email exchange,
you must make a deposit in order to start releasing and converting promotional money.
You must fulfill the requirements to do so.
Nevertheless, in order for the requirements to be taken into consideration,
remember that the raked hands have to be in $1/$2 tables.
Now in order for a hand to be considered raked hand;
you first of all have to contribute to the pot (Blinds do not count as a contribution to the pot),
and you must see at least the flop, after these has been fulfill,
that hand will be considered a raked hand".


wow...need to contribute on 1/2 dollar table and

blinds are not counted. is it just me or is this

a close to impossibe "raked hand" definition???

But seriously, Pokerhost is a horrible site. They will pretty much only allow you to withdraw if you have lost more to them than that amount. There is really almost no way to make any money playing with that crooked (in my opinion) site. I would stay far away from it.

On a brighter note, I won $3 in a CrazyPoker freeroll and brought it up to $40 after a few days. I asked to withdraw and was sent a check 1 week later. No deposits or anything. They even let me withdraw less than the minimum amount ($50) !

since I just won a tourney yesterday at poker host, my understanding after live supports help is, any pomotional bonuses,, such freerolls or credited bonus that was given for offer must have met the raked h ands too release the winning in the cashier. For example, you have a total of 20.00 dollars credit from freerolls and tourneys, and you have never deposited, and you use the 20 to play at real tables and for ex. win 80.00 total. During the time you brought your balace up from 20 to 80... if you meet and get 20 dollars of raked hands... you are all set to cashout the 80 or more and no longer have requirements of rake to get the 80 or more. kinda get it?

The bottom line, guys & gals, is that I am unaware of ANY poker room which will allow you to withdraw real money without depositing real money. If you win a prize in a freeroll, and have not deposited into a real money account, those winnings are considered by the poker room to be "bonus dollars", not real dollars. The different sites have different policies. Some will convert them to real dollars immediately if you make a deposit equal to the amount of the freeroll winnings. Most will keep those winnings separate from the real money you deposit, and will release them back to you incrementally, based upon the number of raked hands you play at their real money ring games.

One of the biggest misconceptions in online poker is that a newbie can walk into a poker room, win some freerolls, and turn that into a cash cow. Not gonna happen. They aren't going to give you any money back until you give them some money, and play a minimum number of real money hands on top of that. You cannot start a bankroll with freeroll winnings or with the comp money they offer new accounts.

if everything is bonus money then

put it in the players bonus money account and not

thier cash account. i think that causes a lot of confusion.

or simply require a deposit to play

if that´s what they want.
