Hey guys,
It's been a while since i've wrote a thread on here hope all is
well.
I'm coming back from a long, long break I say long probably coming up a year I've
not been playing full time online or at all until end of november and brief stints.
Theirs alot of guys out there on cards chat I see who are just starting out
and reminds me of myself starting out back now 2009/2010.
Alot of studying working on game and alot of deep runs in big tournaments
unfortunately I haven't took down anything glamourous cashed in several local highrollers and played a few wsops sunday millions out of own roll thats as good as its ever got. Given the family situation I have at home with two kids its no longer time or money feesable to invest 8 hours plus a day grinding.,
Fortunately this year away I've really found myself and found development in life and career, this all stems from my energy put into poker persoanl development.
I figured that if I was able to work so hard on my game and invest so much time into becoming a worthy poker player what could that same energy do invested into life and career development.
So taking a step away from the felt in many ways has opened my eyes to life on deeper levels
its been some year up and down but kicked the gambling and made some good career opportunities become a reality.
But I think it's important for everyone here grinding who's maybe not providing themselves with a comfortable living from poker not to over invest all their energy into the game, just relax keep the right mindset and discipline and if its meant to be it will happen, if its not meant to be I assure you life will have better and bigger plans for you, even if right now poker is in your mind your dream destiny.
Everyone on this forum has something special alot of people dont have.
And thats a willingness to learn and contribute something to others and those are both great life traits.
And if their is one thing ive learnt this year its a person with the willingness and desire to succeed in life, will succeed and create something good if they committ to that and manifest positive attitudes and actions into there day to day lives!
Just a little story and hopefully it can give insight or confidence to some just starting out
or struggling to break through the ferocious field of online players we have these days at high stakes!.
This year Im investing my own money to play 2 legs of the uk poker tour and ill be satelliting online for most big events (well trying), my passion for the game is still there even though my grinding
days are well behind me.
And for the record Im playing stronger than ever, yes small samples but winning most cash sessions and reading well in tournaments...
So if you are playing hours and hours a day to try make it, theres no reason you cant maintain any skill and ability you have and focus on a multiple flow of income, if you dont already have that.
Good luck at the tables!
