I started for fun, but after a while I studied and noticed that it would be possible to earn some small sums and today I'm trying to win something.

Has to be the fun. I enjoy the game too much to ever consider it a job.

Money. Try to play bet matches instead of money - there is not fun at all. Every single casino game is cool without real money till you understand the game. Once you know its rules there is no more fun. So my goal is to start earning some real money and to be able to quit my daily job.

A serious hobby now, but when I'm secure enough in my game, hopefully a job.

mainly for fun but really just a time filler in the evenings and through the winter months, I will never be a serious winner but over the last few years it has paid for itself and I hope it will continue to do so

Poker is just a recreational thing for me and mental exercise. I'm good at IT, and weak at poker. Poker sure is fun, but IT is paying my bills.

Neither fun nor job--as of yet. I mean, if I didn't enjoy the game I wouldn't play it, but I certainly don't do so just for fun. I make nowhere near enough for it to be a job either though.

Maybe, maybe - poker can be fun, if you play it live and very little money. The rest - a way to earn money and nothing more.
As for me ....

What attracted me at the beginning was to try to earn some money and end up enjoying the game a lot

Poker is a salvation. In 55 years, divorced writer from New York, Eileen Sutton remembers what she was most recently. Thinking about death. Was displeased with the work. But once accidentally on one corporate event she discovered Texas Hold'em. And again felt alive. We always say that poker is a fascinating hobby that can change the rest of your life and help you to feel and enjoy so how can a few other classes. Now thinks so and Sutton held baptism of fire in underground Poker clubs in New York. The writer told about their adventures in a beautiful article for the online magazine Salon.

i think if i play this game way to much it takes the excitement out of it, and makes me a bit bored of it. it can be a small part time job if you limit the hours, and schedule it correctly.

Thanks for sharing. I'll have to look up this article. Sounds very interesting.

For me, poker is a hobby. A very fun and relaxing hobby. And made more fun by being part of this forum!:)

All in all its the pleasure of the game.
I guess the money comes with it.
So I pretty much play for the love of the game or "fun"
