Hi Guys,

Since I've actively start playing poker I've noticed that there's one more challenge for a regular poker player.

Your family's objection to Poker. Most of my family either thinks, I'm going to loose my car, house, life to poker (even if I only play freerolls and manage my bankroll with that freerolls earnings), or think that I am dedicating too much time studying it while I could have been paying attention to them.

Well, poker does demand a bit of my attention as I decided to study, to participate in forums and watch some videos. So, now, just playing when nobody is at home and when I have enough time to finish a tournament before anyone arrives home. Mostly on Saturdays because of my job.

So, how do you guys do? Does everyone accepts it in your house? How much time do you separate for poker, daily or in a week?

How to manage family and poker? =).

Learning to balance poker and life can be tough. The best thing you can do is sit down and make a list of your priorities and make sure each one is taken care of from the top down prior to playing. This way your mind is clear and there are no disagreements about your neglecting anything.

Teach them that poker is not what they say in movies,is a psychological game which include management skills.Say that if u have a 200$,the max u play at poker is 5$ ,so the other 195 is going to family.I hope you will never go to the bank and borrow some money to go at poker.Have a nice day dude.
