At my wifes cousins game it wont be so bad, I just dont want to look like a dork, but if I do, maybe its an advantage anyway, as they will smell fish....... But as far as live games go (and TBO many online games too) I may still have gills.....
The home games I've been to are loosey goosey, family pot affairs. The only times those guys get upset is
- if you play tight (not in many pots) or
- if you slow down the game or
- make it less fun.
If this game is full of "experienced" folks, they may play differently. Pay attention to what they do.
If you are able to deal the cards quickly and accurately, you should be fine.
I'd guess that looking like a bit dorky will make you look like an ATM. A welcome addition to any game, if you are pleasant and don't screw up much. A shark is not so welcome. Just go with the flow and never ever crow when you win.
