Poker Boot Camp On Your Own

I recently asked Jarded Tendler this under his forum but am also very curious on what you you guys have to tell me.

I was very curious on a layout of improving. Since a am taking all of my vacation days (over 3 weeks) that rolled over from last year, I will have much time to really focus on my game. I do not want to waste this time blindly jumping from article to video to books to tables. (which I do normally and understand it is still a GREAT way of learning, reviewing and advancing)
I guess I am asking for some sort of agenda plan and tips for planning a strong poker schedule for someone who wants to review what he knows and advance in new/old aspects of there game. As I said early I will have A LOT of time on my hands.

just a though but try some different styles of play on the micro tables . if possible get a coach or someone better who can work with you directly . I've read many books and posts and do find them very informative but always fail to help my game . good luck sir .

#1 - Schedule your time - when will you "play" and when will you "study" - stick to it. Weight it heavier on the study while you have the time. You will always find time to play once your vacation is over.

#2 - Define your study - reading is not study - watching a video is not study.

#3 - What will you study? Most older books cover a great deal in the most general of terms - because it tries to do too much. That is only just now starting to change with some new books on the market that are specific. Instead of studying a book, study a principle or phase or aspect of the game. Break your game down - where do you need to improve? Find what you want to apply (or at least try out) then go play.

#4 - If you get a coach make sure it is someone who will be available to see you play - otherwise you are spending good money on poker tutor who just wants to talk and not listen.
