Ok, just a quick question, just wondering if anyone actually reads all the poker blogs that have been created by members here?
A lot of work goes into them, and i flick thru from time to time, and hardly see any comments etc, so was wondering if anyone religiously read's certain blogs, and which ones?
Im as guilty as anyone of not reading regularly, but i do try, but as i work nights I dont get much free time to do it, sorry.
And this isnt about my blogs, as my poker blog doesnt have much in it compared to some of the excellent ones here, but my photo blog gets updated every day and Ive had like 5 comments total, but in my thread about my photo blog i get lots of nice comments about the photos, but none on the actual blog? If you like a photo, please tell me on the blog, so i know Im doing something right.
sorry, just a mini-rant, on behalf of the effort that the bloggers put into their blogs!

Here's a tip:

If you want more comments on your blog, set your Blogspot account to allow anonymous comments. This allows people to be able to comment without having to sign up with Blogger or Open ID. Trust me. You won't have to worry about comment spam until you make it really big.

^What Sticky says.

I have quite a few of the CCer blogs bookmarked and look at them reasonably often, but I rarely comment because of the hassle involved. I tend to be playing at least one table at the same time.

-----------

A slightly different tack, but I have begun to wonder recently, since so many of the regulars apparently enjoy creating and reading blogs, whether it might be feasible for CC itself to host a blog section.

It seems a shame that half of us (even including the mods) are off doing their personal poker-related stuff on other sites. Also, if it were all here, there would presumably no longer be any difficulty over access and comment.

I read as many of the CC members blogs as I can. There are some I religiously visit a least a couple of times a week.

Yes, there are a few I have bookmarked and read regularly. I've checked out and enjoyed your photo blog too, KD. :)

I'm new to the blogging thing so my own blog isn't too heavily populated yet, but I've posted a few articles and added some photos this week.

Yes. Log into your blog dashboard and click "Settings". Then click "Comments" in the toolbar right under the tabs at top. Then the 2nd section is "Who can comment?" Select "Anyone" and save your settings.

Using Google Reader, it's really easy to keep up with the blogs I want to read. If you haven't tried it, I can recommend it.

enlighten me, FP?
Is it like the Tilted Blog one, where all updates are concentrated on one blog?

No, it's more like... Oh, hard to explain. Basically, you have your own account (I think you may need to create on first; I already used Google Mail so it came automatically for me) and then you basically subscribe to each of the blogs you want to read. Put in the link, and it remembers it. Every time there's a new blog post up, it will be displayed in the "unread posts" list. So I only visit one site a day for all the blogs I read, very convenient.

Google Reader - Tour

... for a tour of the functionality. I can't even remember how I survived going to all these blogs one-by-one in the old days.

I think poker blogs are a good thing. When I read about someone else's bad beat it reminds me that I am not the unluckiest person in the world!

I have Negreanu's blog bookmarked as well as Lou Krieger's. I do read the occasional blog from a cardschat regular also.

Count me in as someone who doesn't keep a blog, but would do so if CC had a blog-like function.

I read a ton of them. I'm also using Google Reader or I go through Tilted Blog |.

I comment regularly on several CC members blogs as well. Basically because I just can't get enough of myself. ;)

I with WVH^^, not just because it's my site, but TiltedBlog lets me read everyone's blog in 1 spot. I read at least 5/day this way. Plus with pics and replays on there I can see everything at once now. I don't feel I have enough/the correct knowledge to comment, but I will definitely try to leave some from now on. If you read blogs on TB, you can just click the title and it will take you directly to the original blog page where you can drop a comment.

I subscribe to a few of them on my blackberry. You can get Viigo and it does about the same thing as Tilted Blog does. I even keep up with yours on there, WVHillbilly!

I read the blogs on CardRunners. Some of them have really good poker analysis and theory discussions (eg Verneer)

i didnt even know what a blog was the people that write them have no life

Contrary to what john "Mr. Excitement" johnson may think, most poker bloggers lead full, enriching lives, have good insights into poker and are great sources for important poker news. Some write more for fun or to keep a written history of their poker experiences.

There is, of course, a vast poker blogger community outside of CardsChat members who blog. Hot links for some great blogs are on the right-hand side of my blog. Check a few out -- you may be surprised.

I actually like using TiltedBlog because it shows the hand replays, something that Google Reader does not do. I use Google Reader mainly for blogs outside of CC.
