Turning to social games is often helpful. A poker addict might just play poker for free and get his or her fix on a daily basis without losing any more money. Social gambling games have been used in addiction support groups to fight the uncontrollable urge to gamble, with some success. Getting support is another step in the right direction. No matter if it's family or friends, being surrounded by people fighting the same fight can help addicts fight their own issues. Another important step is to avoid any temptation. While free games might help avoid excessive gambling for real money, they are merely a quick fix, not a long-term solution. Staying away from casinos and poker rooms, as well as having someone else control the money sources, is a much better approach.

If in the site settings it is possible to put a limit on the deposit or on the use of the amount of money, then use this function. And if you play live, then go to a psychiatrist and he will give you advice.

This is a little difficult to answer because the term addict is personal, which you consider to be addicted to the guy who plays for hours, but if he lives off poker he has to play for hours. so you need to delimit a line and say from here it's a vice and know how to control your bankroll.

I doubt that one can achieve good results and suffer the vagaries of long-term varaince. if you are not addicted and totally in love with this game. to improve your game and progress in poker. we must be motivated and be ready to make certain sacrifices. including that of spending several hours a day playing. which in the end is to admit that we are forced to be addicted to this game to play well.

stop playing poker is the easy option.

the harder option, get your life in order so that you don't crave quick fixes and instant gratification.

get away from technology, spend time in nature, spend time with friends and loved ones, eat good food, listen to beautiful music, and most importantly invest your energy into long term projects that are extremely satisfying but have delayed gratification as a key element.

Ask yourself what it is you want from poker anyway and if poker is really the best outlet to find that or if there is something that would serve you better but you may be afraid of.

This is a very interesting topic and one I plan on researching a lot more.

I've found the work of Gabor Mate to be incredible helpful and worth looking into for anyone who is genuinely concerned that they have addiction issues.

Many experts that pathological gambling is an addiction to adrenaline on winning and losing money. In a tournament until the best players lose a 95% of the time. But, in addition, the poker now it's not just money, fame thanks to the televised events. The behavior of addiction need an objective and approach. The fortune and fame are a great goal.
It is worth notice details that surround any addiction when we aim to cure or prevent them. So let's take a closer look at the bets and poker problematic.!!
The problems with the sunsets is a behavior that causes problems in various aspects of life:Psychological, physical, social or vocational. The term problematic gaming behavior includes, but is not limited to, a condition known as pathological or compulsive gambling addiction, a progressive that is characterized by a growing occupation in the game, the need to obtain money to bet more often, nervousness, irritability when attempting to stop, and loss of control manifested by the continuation of the behavior despite its growing negative consequences.

But thanks be to God, we must not fall for that , be patient and have fun in this game , take it as a professional.!!

I'm someone who has poker problems. At one point I almost lost my wife over it. When that happened I quit cold turkey. No freerolls, not even playing for points. It was horrible for the first few weeks. Yes, it took weeks to get over those urges, but they do eventually go away. It was bad enough that I would pace around the floor obsessing about poker.
Since then, my wife has allowed me to come back to playing on a very limited basis. There's no time limits on my playing, but she has absolute control over the amount I can spend on poker, plus what little I can win playing freerolls. But I do have some control over it now. Forcing myself to quit for half a year was the best thing I could do. It showed me I can control it if I have to and how to get over it when I need to.

I'd recommend anyone who thinks they might be an addict to give it up for an entire month, cold-turkey. Or as long as it takes so you're not thinking about it all the time (which may be longer). Then, after you have control over it, ask yourself if you truly want to come back to it. You actually might not want to after realizing how hard it is to overcome the obsession.

There is no need to go in cycles on one poker. First of all, you need to lead a full real life, and not sit for days in the game. Spend four days on poker and do other things for three days. Only in this way will you maintain your health.

Yes, poker is addictive and can become a drug for you. It is necessary to limit the time for the game and the amount by which you will play.

Gambling addiction is a big problem. If you feel unable to control yourself, try the "safe game" feature. This may be helpful to you.

Hello.
Try building a bankroll from scratch by playing freerolls only. Perhaps this will help you to realize that this game is not a bingo, but a combination of strategy and tactics. If you feel addicted, consult a psychologist.

Understand, you cannot win stacks of money playing poker. You will just turn a big bankroll into a small one.
Many years ago I had a racehorse habit.
During saturday afternoon when the races were on I took up vegetable gardening and created a magnificent source of good food for my kids.
Vegetables cost us about $4,000 a year this I counted as winnings, because now they cost us nothing. I did it organically so they were also very healthy.
You need to distract yourself from your gambling problem.
Now my children have all left home I'm able to have a bet on the horses each weekend and stay with in my limits.
If your habit is sending you broke, just think of it as going up to strangers and giving them all your money, that should stop you.

We must clarify that certainly is not easy to leave an addiction (no matter what it is). I think you have to rely on family and / or friends. Try to get maximum hours allowed in the game or even better only play a few days a week, leaving little. willpower is needed, find new goals in life. Find new hobbies. He thus even with these tips, it is a deeper problem and if necessary professional help is needed. :):):)
