Hi all.

As most of you know, those who know/ sat at the table with me I play a lot of NLHE, but I really enjoy PLO and was wondering who on here plays alot and who can give me some advice on strategy? I have checked the forum and cannot seem to find anything? (Probably me!). If you could give me a message letting me know where to find tourney strategy or leave me your name on whatever site and I'll rail you and learn something (I hope)!! If anyone is interested in improving their PLO perhaps we could form some discussion group/ thread on here?........thanks all and run good!! :D:D:D

BearPlay is a good Omaha player. Also marginal, but he's not around much anymore.

PLO is much a drawing game and a volatile one.

You must be very good at reading hands.

Im the best I know at PLO hi lo and limit hi lo -- the best tip I have for you at PLO high only is to have 3 times in your bankroll for the stakes you would play NLHE with - the game is just so volatile. Also don't do as I have done twice in the last 3 months and have 3 games of hi lo going, sign in to a high only game mistakenly and bet your AA 23 all the way down on a 67 k 10 board with two hearts to your nut flush then jam when a 4 of clubs hits river lol.

First, let me ask you, what piqued your interest and what do you like about PLO (as opposed to NLHE, or PLO8)? That answer will help me answer your question.

I never got around to an Omaha thread but maybe I should add that to my to-do list, but I have written a number of posts on Omaha, and if I could, I would play Omaha exclusively over Holdem.

You can take a look here and here and here .

Also, I like this video for the basics:

and this live training/quiz:

and this site for some strategy: Omaha Planet

then feel free to post some questions or hands.

Good luck ;)

I'd suggest reading Jeff Hwang's books. Its a minimal investment for a decent payoff in knowledge. idk... I'm a total poker book advocate & personally can't imagine taking the plunge into playing Omaha without arming myself with a decent foundation of knowledge.

Also, as far as Omaha tournament play goes, I'd first get my feet wet at limit & potlimit cash tables. Later you could pick up tournament play & the adjustments for it. (it's easier to gain more experience by firing up a couple of micro Omaha tables imo, then sitting in a tourney format)

Danzer is decent as a tourney player, not so great at cash, I played a fair bit with him live a few years ago during the EPT but wasnt overly impressed.

I am the best omaha player on CC, dont let anyone say differently :)

PLO has the easiest strategy of any poker game. Get in to see the flop for as cheap as you can. Hit the nuts then get some donk to call with second nuts. I've seen this happen so many times especially with flushes you think people would learn that King high is no good but they never do.
