Should I or shouldn't I? Last time I was away for too long and it was a problem...

My stupid tooth abscessed. This one opposite the one from last time. I'm not griping mind you, but I should because my left jaw is swollen beyond recognition and I'm miserable.

I just want to know how much of a negative effect illness or injury has on play. Obviously it's not like playing a sport, but could the distraction of pain or discomfort have a majorly negative affect on play overall?

I suppose it would be easier to play while injured than while ill, but I think that ultimately only you can decide if its a good idea or not.

Oh and being on some intense rx pain meds and playing is probably not a good idea.

I think you will be fine. Like Andy said, being on heavy medication is probably not too good an idea but if you take some tylenol you should be okay. Just depends on how bad it hurts (btw sounds awful, hope you get better). I find that when I'm sick and playing I usually play a little better because I have absolutely nothing else to do, so my concentration turns toward poker.

Whatever you decide, good luck feeling better

I find I play better when I am ill. I use poker to take my mind off things and concentrate more.

Vicoden or however it's spelled, left bottle in kitchen...

Leaves me flat of my back and a little loopy. I like it. But it's not so good for poker as my PC's a desktop.

I just couldn't stay away. I must be sicker than I thought...

Anyway, I was having trouble at Cake's cash tables, but a whole lot of chasing goin' on there. I just have to figure out the patterns and play around them. Almost got it down but not quite...

So I sat at a SNG. Just a $1 +.20 nothing fancy. Placed second. What's scary isn't that I didn't lose outright, but that the other two players were probably sober and probably don't have a fever. This is going in my blog.

TC everyone and I hope I don't run my little BR into the ground, but if I do, come on, what's a better excuse than a fever and being doped up?

Entered another SNG and placed first this time. It's only Cake though, so...

At any rate haven't lost money, post-op pain kept me on my toes this time, have to wait two more hours for next round of pills and was insanely bored.
