I just wanted to jump on the site real quick and put a thread out here to keep my post count up. You may have already read in some of my other posts, but on the 29th I was in a pretty bad car wreck. Today is the first day since the wreck that I have spent any significant time out of my bed. Although I am feeling better, I am nowhere near 100% yet. I was on pretty heavy pain meds for a short bit, but have been off of them for about 5 days now I think it is. My head is still foggy, and I am still experiencing a little bit of minor withdraw symptoms.

I have read time and time again about how, if you are not playing poker at your 100% level then you are playing bad poker. Never has this rung more truthfully for me then now. I have seen my playing get just out right bad at times recently. Thank goodness I have limited my bad playing to Cards Chat freerolls and I have not put any dents into my bankroll. I have been going stir crazy recently, and I almost went out to the live casino today. After I got showered, and ate some food, I decided to get out of my house and see how I felt first. I went to my local music shop and grabbed some guitar picks. I put gas in my car that didn't get T-Boned the other night, and I got it washed. I came home to evaluate how I felt after such an outing, and it didn't take me long to see that I am still not ready for the real world yet. After my outing I decided to stay home for the remainder of the day, play some guitar, and then enjoy a Cards Chat freeroll.

Here's to hoping I am playing at my 100% level again soon. Really though, if you are not playing at your best level of play every time you play, you are leaving money on the table, if not just giving it away.

I really have a hard time being 100%, i can say to myself: i will play this tournament 100% and it is very likely that i will not play 100, and even less if i have not played 1 hour before. I've seen myself playing at 100% in some tournaments in the final stages or sometimes when im against the wall ... but i really think its very difficult to keep you 24 hours at 100%, really trying because i hate to lose, but, i think a way to reach your 100% is achieved by sleeping 9 or 10 hours, eating normally (well), practice or play a bit before an event .. listen to music that motivates you .. i think that a week can be in my 100% about 2 or 3 days .. not much as I would like.

Have about a month of back pain that has kept me off-line after work. I normally will not play poker if had a bad day at work. To me it is just not worth my time to invest an hour or two into a MTT and just loose interest or fine the pain not worth the discomfort to even play. Rather be focused and interested to make worth my time.

Wow. Sorry to hear that. I had a hip replacement a little over a year ago and it took me a few months before I could hobble around well enough. So I really feel for you. Stir-crazy is an understatement.

You are one of the few people that I have actually chatted with at the CC game tables. I am hoping you get back to 100% real soon. Peace!

it is impossible to play 100% constantly, even during one tournament, because it can drag on for many hours and you can lose concentration, desire, self-confidence

I wish you fast recovery. Health is the most important thing in this life and many people unfortunately understand it the hard way when they loose it. I also had health problems in the past but fortunately i am ok now. Take your time to fully cure both physically and mentally from the accident. Poker tables will not go anywhere and will be waiting for you. Remember that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. :)

Regarding the 100% play - i agree 100% that if you are not at 100% you should not play. :D

I hope you'll get better soon ! Playing 100% means being the best of the best. Not every player can do it. But everyone should strive for excellence, constantly improve and analyze their game! If a person wants something very much, he will certainly achieve this, it is important only at what price! It is important to catch the wave and enjoy the process, believe in success and never give up. In this case, everything will turn out!:vroam:
