Played in a poker tournament on Carbon Poker when one of the players began sending messages that American's were cowards and that they should all die of cancer. and Mafia. These are just a few of his post as we played most were directed against US. Everyone at our table was US player except one.
My question is would you report this? the other players at the table either had there chat turned off or were to smart to be drawn into the sewer. No one said anything.
reminds me of Bully's but on a poker site Sticks and stones I guess

Report the chat to the poker site. Give them the hand and table number, so they know were to look for the chat. You might have to email them.

I generally have chat turned off or I just don't pay attention, but if you were offended then by all means contact the site. They will decide how to proceed from there.

turn off the chat and put on some tunes, always come across idiots that try to smack talk to get you off your game. Some people are just that way.:stupid:

good advice, Chat will be replaced by Music. There can be a "dark side" to the internet, the force be with you..

Its incredibly irritating, I just turn off chat until I see someone who I know on the site. Most people are nice, but the best thing to do is just listen to some music

I would just mute or turn of chat, plenty of immature disrespectful people don't let it bother you, if you are really offended report them because sometimes that's the only way they will learn trust me i myself said things in the past that were idiotic purely out of immaturity and disregard for how it makes others feel

I love reading the chat!!! Especially when people are saying stupid sh**. I never respond to them, am never bothered by it and find it amusing. Many times, considering intellect to be a poker player's most important attribute, I consider it a major tell as to what I might be able to get away with vs. the chatbox jockeys.

I think its worth knowing what people are saying and who is being affected by it.
Often in this situation other players will take the bait and engage in back and forth and become a little distracted and sometimes tilted. I want to know this so I don't turn off chat ever just for this reason alone.
With that said I will say that if you feel that random ignorant insults affect you in any way turn off the chat.

I always leave chat off. Some players use chat to try to put you on tilt.

I'd leave it unreported. He looks like a weak player. Or he could be a strong player trying to tilt you. Like everyone else said, mute him if it's disturbing you. If you think it's a +EV situation to report him because he's causing you to either tilt or he's a good player, do so. If not, just keep taking his cash...

Did he lose a big pot or something?

I do not play poker to hear this kind of stupid crap, so yes I would report it.

I prefer this stuff to be in forums, so I can decide if I want to respond to it or ignore it and it is moderated. Yet at the games it should be fun and about the game, not some America-hating loser who has so many issues they do not know when to shut up. That being said, if you need to tilt people to help your game, good luck fishy, you'll need it.

Lets face it; some (certainly not all, I would not even think it's normal) people overseas think America bashing is fashionable. See how that changes if and when they need us to pull their fat out of some fire.

As usual, then we are the greatest guys in the world, lmao.

I seen it happening more and more used to it didn't bother me. If it doesn't bother you you can sometimes use this to your advantage. But if something is directed at you that is offensive or they are starting to get on your nerves and its starting to affect your mindset on your game. you can do one of a couple things one report it the second you can turn the chat off for games which is what I have done. Generally you go in a game to play and make money and most part probably don't know the players in the game so no need to see the chat. if you decide to play a game with players you want to be sociable with just turn chat back on for that game.

I have never gone to that extent but I make acouple of smart comments about players choices during the game (As I did in the lock game on Saturday when a certain CC mong called my shove with K8o vs my 99), and I wasn't even rude about it, all I said was "I'd make same call seeing as you had the odds", but truth be told she didn't have odds to make that call (the pot wasn't that big, nor was I that small at all), needless to say that mong ended out taking me out of the game after that but it got her under her skirt (lol If I can say so)...

Moral of the story, words are just words, and especially online words are just that, so don't take it to heart, rub it off like dirt off your shoulder

i dont mind the banter you see but on a couple of occasions you might get people saying I hope you die of cancer which is disgusting which I have had said a couple of times,
I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy its just not something you do.

I must confess though I have had a terrible 2 sessions and I used the chat box today .
Quote ''you lot really are unbelievable etc etc. lol, after losing to like 85 or something ridiculous in a re-raised pre hand.

Yes, She did lost a big pot that's what got her started on her rant. Lost half her chips, then went on tilt. I say she because the player had a female name.
I am not going to report it, but I should.
I didn't mind:
- the Mafia remarks (don't know where this remark came from)
- the American are cowards ( my father was in the 87th airborne, your welcome)
- the die of cancer (this is the one that got me brought some horrible images to mind)
Last post on this subject for me, got to "move on" .....thanks for the post

I have seen this quite often. Usually someone who thought their K2o should have raked a big pot or someone goading to put others on tilt. Ignore them or report them....do not allow them to throw off your game. Keep your eyes on the prize.
