Not sure of the question without structure or buy-in amount. If in general your asking because you can read someone live vs on-line, sure live is safer. Playing a cash table live normally involves a couple hundred minimum. If you worried about losing it, you shouldn't be playing.

The use of the word safe makes me think about the guy who follows you out to the parking lot either wanting his money back or your telephone number. I don't know which is worse. I have done better at live games though (to answer your question as intended).

Google Absolute poker and see what risks you will get playing online.

Very highly rated site with cheating going on.

I know this is unpopular especially on this forum since its sponsored by Americas Cardroom, but I think in my personal experience of playing on ACR is set to give more action, either that or people get bad beat on there way too many times. I have never been bad beat this many times in this many hands this fast. Over 1k hands, and get absolutely crushed by runner runner, 4 outers and more. This is a joke. Out of the 1k hands that I have played to showdown on that site, I have a showdown win of less than 20% while leading on the flop 83% and turn more than 90%. Stick to brick and mortar. On side note, I am in process of withdrawing from ACR and will never be playing there again, back to pokerstars and real casinos. Pokertracker 4 logs are unbelievable on for that site. I have never been that "unlucky".

It depends what your biggest concerns are.

If you're an RNG conspiracy theorist, or if you think people who use HUDs are cheats, then maybe you're "safer" in a live card room.

Online doesn't have card marking, angle shooting, going south or dealer errors though, you can't get robbed on the way back to your car from an online game, and online sites are at least as good at catching collusion as live card rooms are.

You know 1k hands is a tiny, tiny sample right?

You should choose based on what you like to play the most. Stick to the big sites, security of the game or money should not be a concern there.

First of all computers are not designed to "randomly" generate numbers. Even LCG has its flaws. But thats not the point. The point is without an outside audit, you have zero way of knowing what lies in the code. But after "trying" ACR, I have no interest at all playing there. Theres what you call bad luck and theres what you call bullshit.

I know 1k hands is a very tiny sample but when I said 1k hands, I meant 1k showdown hands. I've played over a million hands in these past few years. partypoker to Full Tilt to Pokerstars to regular casino grinding. I play 40-80 hours a week grinding the casinos now, but I used to grind 90+ hrs a week online before black friday. So please don't give me the crap about angle shooting, robberies and other b.s.
First of all, angle shooting is more of an advantage for grinders such as myself. Physical tells are also a very good advantage you would otherwise not have. And getting robbed driving home from a casino     oh please. I'm not trying to argue about the pros and cons or live and online poker. You could easily read that anywhere on the web. What I am griping about is the bullshit that is ACR. Never in my life have I seen so many bad beats (not just myself, but observing other people in the tables as well). There maybe a very high variance that I am witnessing (which may be even an outlier) but during these past few days, I have seen enough. More badbeats that I've seen in one day than I've seen in one month grinding 220 hours on PS. So put that into perspective. Over 1000 showdown hands, 600+ suckouts and badbeats in this last month. So yeah, you may see less hands but the variance of brick and mortar is not as "suspicious" as to an online site where they want more "action" to get people playing more and chase more and deposit more.

I like that you asked the question, let some people respond and then added your opinion. It did start some noise.

If a house has 10 friends with 10 computers these subscribers in the same tournament and they can see each other's cards. In this case does not have virtual control and the chance to have a winner is easy and maai maiss is hard for you to win is not it?

anyway is fine.
but if the Random Number Generator is good enough, I prefer online is safer.

That is what I was thinking. Less likely to be shot for holding Aces & 8's in online poker.

We have a live game every second Friday where I live and the game is the same. Within that 7 hour period you will see some of the most amazing suckouts. The same as on pokerstars. I've grown to accept and try to stick to a plan.

In the real world and cheat on the Internet, there is a very good rule,I don't want to be cheated, don't play with the unknown, if you do not want to be cheated play with friends.Unfortunately, in the Internet there are ways,I know people who call each other on Skype and sit 2-3 to play for real money, play for a little, ate someone sits down ,it unwinds, and wait for the next, then the winnings are divided

live poker is more difficult, there need to be able to read the emotions of people and keep track of your, if you certainly are calculated to win
