Do introverts play poker, and if they do are they any good at it? I would think that the nature of poker is not a suitable pastime for them. The other side of the coin is the Alpha male, who is aggressive by nature, I can see all the Alphas pumping the air right now and saying 'You got that right pal". (I'm not being sexist to you ladies, but the jury's still out finding if there is a female equivalent). However can the Alphas aggression keep them in hands that they should otherwise have folded? Opinions welcome!

Anyone can succeed at poker on the internet with a little patience.

Thats pretty generalistic. Introverts dont have to talk to win at the live poker table. I think youre mixing up introverts with passive personalities

I meant no disrespect about female introverts. It was the Alpha female the experts are unsure of. XX

It's not about muscle and brawn, it's a mental test so yes I think women can be just as tough and aggressive as men.

I'm an introvert but I have only played online. My casino opened a poker room a few months ago and I'm very interested to go play live. That being said though I definitely won't be chatty at the table when I get to go

Any player you can identify as fitting a personal characteristic group {introvert, extrovert, female, non-female, alpha, submissive .. whatever} is also capable of sucking at poker.
Seek and destroy based on how they play cards, not what kind of hat they wear.

I do not agree with your opinion, as practice and experience in poker have shown, absolutely any people can play and win! At least aggressive, though passive.

I would think any personality can play poker. However learning your opponents personality might help you on the table.

So its not a bad question to think about.

As it has been said I don't think introvert are not good at the poker table. I think poker is not about personality, at least when playing online.

I think the answer to this question is much easier than many people think. Personality of the person is in direct dependence on the style of the game - tight, aggressive, loose, passive, playing with any two cards and each of these styles has proved its solvency in poker, tk. Having a good command of one of them can be a very good player. I would single out a separate group of people - adepts - who can understand when to change style both in life and in the game of poker, depending on the situation, here they really stand on the step above.

Yes, I like your opinion the most.

The virtue of poker and cards is that they do not see who is sitting at the table, alpha, omega, white, black, man or woman. Many spend their lives without touching real cards, and they come easily to a million hands played.
With the advancement of technology and the rise of online gambling and globalization, it makes more and more people play poker, and there to make their ideal personality, we do not know if we play with girls, ladies, gays, blacks, whites Let alone his adopted personality. Welcome technology and enjoy the bio-diversity of characters

Introvert female here, yes we do exist! :)

And another one here! Winning most of my money exactly from those Alpha males who underestimate me.

On a serious note, being an introvert or extrovert doesn't really matter if you know how to play the game. For an introvert like me, it is only a positive thing to be able to play online, safe in my home

Being an introvert is not the same as being a weak minded person. And most introverts will just play online and be fine anyway.
