This is the way I see it. Since I am very competitive, I will play even harder against someone I know. I've been at tables with my husband and busted him... Hmm...maybe that's a reason we're not married anymore....:hmmmm:on the tables there is no friends, its a game, winner take it all
Most definitely there is an advantage. Collusion is a major problem too especially in live low stakes No limit- I've heard stories of entire tables colluding against one or two unsuspecting people. Always be wary of what people are doing with their chips or other signals and watch the action. If the same two people keep getting involved in the same pot and do weird things like min raising out of position they could be trying to build a pot unfairly for their buddy who has signaled he has a monster hand.Is there any advantage for a couple sitting at the table who know each other?

No, but seriously, I don't see a problem with it, as long as they aren't cheating in anyway and colluding or soft-playing one another. I mean, you might get to know the other people at the table over time anyway, and that of course will always put you at an advantage over someone new.
