I am in pittsburgh and we have a beautiful new casino. Once the table games come it is going to be fan-****ing-tastic.

"Now he's got his approval. Pennsylvania lawmakers reached a budget deal Friday night that will legalize table games, opening the door for an estimated $200 million in extra gambling fees and taxes annually for the cash-starved commonwealth.

State officials say blackjack, roulette, poker, craps and other table games should be introduced in about six to nine months - a little slower than Toth's ambitious timetable - once the regulatory system is completed."

Reading at the 2nd article, this looks like a done deal. Just a few regulatory details to iron out. But the success for Pennsylvania casinos will largely depend on just how greedy the state will be, tax-wise.

And no, Atlantic City is not happy about this at all. I have Philadelphia Park Casino just 20 minutes away from me. Never even been there, but that will probably change. :D Thing is, there is not another one around for, I believe, over 50 miles. AC is probably closer than the next PA casino. Given the population of Philly and environs, this gold mine will be jammed to the rafters every day of the week. You better believe they have an ambitious timetable.

In November, Ohio is voting on building 4 casinos around the state. But, just like the previous 4 or 5 votes, I'd bet this one also goes down in flames. We'd rather give our money to PA, WVa, Mich., & Indiana. Of course, Ohio does have a lottery...for some reason, we'll won't legalize games of skill, like poker, but we did legalize the lottery...a game of chance. Sheesh! That's OK with me as I'm within a 1 hour drive of 2 casinos in WVa., 2 hours to Pittsburgh, and only 3 hours from Detroit and Windsor. I guess I'll spend my money there.

Well it took alittle longer than expected, but it's finally done. Now I just have to wait about 6-9 months until they are up and running. Parx is only about 20 minutes from me, so I won't have to bother driving to AC any more.

Just moved back to the Philly suburbs after a 8 year leave, glad to be back. Go Birds! Anyway, Harrah's in West Chester is a lot closer to me, will they have them there?

Yes, all of the state's casinos and racinos will have the table games. Harrah's in Chester is also a nice place, just a bit further for me. But since Harrah's owns it, I'm sure they will have some wsop Sats there that will be worth the drive.

That's good Patty. I heard Ohio had been considering allowing 4 casinos or something like that. I guess you will be able to go to Pittsburgh for the time being (probably better for you than WV).

LOL Detroit is much closer to him than Pittsburgh. Well When Pennsylvania gets table games say BYE BYE to Mountaineer no way they survive with both Penn and Ohio getting full casinos.

Most estimates say the tables will be up and running for July 4th Holiday.

Here in Texas, a bill was suppose to go to vote in Austin to allow poker rooms in our state,,,never made it as our Governor Perry vetoed it. If it ever gets to where each state decides if online poker is allowed, I'm afraid we are doomed here.
Take care

Is the growth in poker over? The poker rooms in mo. are doing very poorly and two have just closed. Is this a trend in other places?

Someone I know had an interview at Parx and they were still saying September. It'll either by July 4th like you said, or Labor Day.

Haven't heard of too many rooms closing, although once PA and DE get their rooms going, some rooms in AC might take a serious hit. I'm sure Borgata and Taj will be fine, but some of the other rooms might see their numbers go down alot.
