I have been placing well in the freerolls lately and want to press some of the winnings in some cash tourneys.

What criteria should I be looking for to find a tourney. I find I don't care much for rebuy but know there appears to be a built in donk overlay in those. Forums provide lots of nice tourneys with nice little overlays.
Since I play a lot of sites now I want to know how calculate the overlays on guaranteed tourneys?
I notice that the number who sign up for most of them is close to break even for the tourneys.
Is there a best time for finding these tourneys?

Well it used to be easier to find the overlays. Now with late registration on tilt it is harder. They said one level originally but now it seems to be changing to 2 levels or maybe even more (basically until they hit the guarantee). I dont think late registration is a bad idea but I think in guarantee tournaments it should be a set 1 level and thats it. Also stars tournaments pay out more spots and is not as top heavy if I remember right. Might want someone to clarify but there is a difference.

hmm best chance at overlay would be to find a non late-register client. Plus alot of the overlay tourneys are high buyins... hope you got like $200+ per try...

First, try the CardChat buy-ins. They provide good overlay. Monday night on UB the buy-in is 5.50 with $100 Added. There is on avg only 20 to 24 players. Thats like playing in a 10.00 buyin tourney for 5.50. Second, the big sites like FT,PS almost always cover there guarantee's. If you want to find tourney's with overlays your best chance is the smaller poker rooms.
