I am not a great or world-class poker player, but I have been in the game for over a decade to varying degrees.

I have played regularly up to 5/10 NLH in cash games.

I have over ~3000 hrs live and tonnes of play online. Only have played maybe 40 MTTs live, but many online.

I am up lifetime in the high 5 figures....But I play lower today (100-350MTTs live/ 10-25 dollar MTTs online, 1/2 and occasionally 2/5)

I am a winning player to the best of my ability to discern.

I came into the game through the boom right out of school (34 yrs old) and have seen the ups and downs of online and live.

I used to think MTTs were a joke, and now I play mostly MTT's much online on a domestic US site (Carbon) and some live in both casinos and at local charity games.

I always loved reading wells early on in my journey, and I wanted to give back by answering most any question about my poker "career"/ poker/strategy in general. I won't be answering really personal questions, but ask away....

I do not really like MTT, much, I see that the gains are better compared to the other games in the online gaming grid, I like sit & go, too
I often say that I'm not the master of poker, just as I already made money from him, I also lost a good amount, but this is poker, and anything can happen, do not you agree with me?

I don't necessarily love MTTs, but in the US that is where the worst players generally play, so....

As for the rest of it, I make money bc I practice good bankroll management and generally play with players less skilled.

That's sort of the point of poker guys.

What was your biggest difficulty migrating from SNG to MMT? Did you have it or not?
And what advice would you give to the beginner?

I migrated from CASH GAMES to MTT's, sorry if that was unclear.

I'd say the biggest adjustment is learning to be at peace with losing and losing and losing even if your play is good. That's the lot of the MTT player, you have to deal with it.

I just got it all in in a big tourney with 88 against 89off for a decent stack, and lost....that was funny bc im literally writing this.

My advice to new players is to play a lot and watch videos on a cheap training site/you tube, but not passively. Talk hands out with friends or online...and DON'T RELY on freerolls or penny poker bc the lessons there are pretty much unusable as you move up. Try to play 5 dollar MTT's or 10NL as quickly as possible once you get the basics. ALWAYS be trying to figure out ranges for people whether in hands or out of them...

Strategy wise, try to play in position the vast majority of the time with good holdings and keep things simple while you learn.

I mostly avoided cash games for the reason you stated above, but, please don't mention this to any of our cash game regs here, they are arrogant enough as it is. ;) I am also a recreational player & have no interest in a second job, but are you committed to staying the tournament route & has your cash game experience translated well to MTT play?

Online cash games are pretty much dead for the casual player. Maybe Bovada has some value left, but I am not a huge fan of anonymous tables the way they are set up on Bovada, so...

I am committed to playing MTTs, but I also will sprinkle in some live low limit NLH cash on occasion and have been debating whether to start grinding 1/2 in earnest lately.

I think i'll play more cash coming up in the fall bc of a schedule change in my workplace, and i'll stay playing almost all MTT's online where the offerings are numerous, and offer good value.

My cash experience means i'm most often the best skilled player postflop at my tables when I play MTTs. I almost have to reign in some plays bc the players just aren't smart/good enough to lay down in certain spots.

I DEFINITELY think MTTs can hurt your cash game.....there is a lot of not feeling comfortable or knowing how to play 100BBs deep post that happens.

Anymore....cmon you guys......hit me with questions.
