OK I'm going to start this off after reading Flash's thread about lingo, I'd thought I'd put down a word or saying and define it. Feel free to add your own, and still check google or whatever for actual meanings, lol.

FYI,
I picked up 'The Official Dictionary of Poker' at a used bookstore. Comes from the Mike Caro University. My book is copyright 1999.

The NUTS are defined as;

the best posible hand at any particular point in a pot.

So, one can have the NUTS which can only be AA preflop according to that definition. The NUTS will change after the flop, the turn, and the river. The only time I can figure that the preflop nuts will remain the absolute nuts is with an AAx flop. If that x is a K and one of the Aces matches, then watch out, fireworks be happening here. One more of the royal family puts those absolute quad aces at posible risk. Granted the odds are nearly imposibly improbable, but truthfully, I am more than willing to be on the loosing side of that showdown.

I can find no reference to suited cards being called the NUTS, however many old terms have evolved from thier original useage.

LMAO, ok you guys aren't getting it. It's a joke, see where I play I've seen the most terrible plays when it comes to preflop all ins or big raise calls, and most of those plays are people calling large raises preflop with anything suited, hence the joke. Here I'll try another one.

PROFESSIONAL: Those guys that play the nickel or buck SNG tables that give advice and criticize plays even when they're not in the hand.

Yeah, I looked it up after posting as well. According to Virgin Poker , the nuts is defined as holding an invincible hand, given the cards which are on the board. In other words, if you're holding pocket pair, and the other two fall down on the flop, it's most likely the nuts hand. This is not to say, however, that these can't be broken. It has happened, and will happen again :(. There's some pretty good lingo terms on this site; it's worth checking out! :D

Here's another one...

On the button – The player on the button is last to bet into the pot, and is technically in the strongest position.

Guess we'll make this thread the official guidebook to poker lingo.
