Never ceases to amaze how many fish come out on the weekends.

While this makes good at cash games I have found that it is almost pointless to play tournaments. Constantly pushing and rebuying makes for big payouts but it takes all of the skill completely out of the game.

Thoughts?

I have training in tournaments, after the tournament it is easier for me to play the cash game.

It doesn't actually take all the skill out of the game, you are quite wrong because if you think about it, the fish will be either knocked out quite early in the game or if they stand lucky (which works out as a win-win situation for you) they get all the chips on the table which will basically be free for you to take on the long run (supposing you're a skilled player that can take full advantage and bully a fish with his errors).

All champions started as contenders

More fish mean more mistakes. It does taste bad that they shove all-in and then get lucky. Just keep to the fundamentals and let variance work it out.

As a weekend warrior fish, I object to this thread.

For it's fact ...
The variances of either card or game style of each player, poker and a constant learning, you can never stop studying and bad beat are part of the game.

If I play a freeroll or low stakes tournament I automatically pay less attention the first 10 mins, since I know the fish you are talking about will have that time to splash around in their fishy manner. So pretty much playing very tight during that period, especially from EP and MP since we will often have to play OOP in mw pots if we open from those positions. In LP we can start playing more mediocre hands, but only if we get to open or isolate vs 1 limper at most.
If it bothers you don't play microstakes tourneys or freerolls in the weekends. But I would just sit back and say "Let the splashing commence!" lol
