Hey cc members, I was wondering about online staking. I was having thoughts of getting together with someone that is well known and statistically good on pokerstars and staking them for the Sunday Million. OBV, this is my first online poker forum I have ever been a part of so I was wondering, is it possible for a U.S player to stake an overseas player safe and securely? If so, is it profitable? Or is it just a bad idea overall? I saw a thread on here a couple days ago on staking that didn't end well so it made me a bit skeptical as to proceed on this matter. I appreciate any feedback.

Yes! Do a background check on the player and make sure they ONLY ONLY ONLY play what they DOMINATE. There are many good players that go busto because of going over their limits. The good HORSE is tough to find though.

How do you actually find the horse and be able to trust him with the money? Remember I am a U.S player so it would be tough for me to meet and trust a player out of the states. Is there a secure way to legally bind him if he does bink The Sunday Million?

secure way to bind, not really done easily. Would basically have to probably form a company and get legal contracts for backing signed etc (just a thought if can be done that way maybe).

Best way to find a trusted horse is essentially through involvement with them on forums for example, but it is always a risk regardless as sometimes even the most trusted (although very unlikely) could say fu especially if your talking such a huge amount of money. Obviously this would be bad on them and if such a situation ocurred I'd send them runbad to wind up broke and on the street as bad as that sounds I'd think it pretty low of someone to do that.

I would imagine you could usually find a decent horse through forums though, where even if you are new to the community yourself it should be easy enough to find out if the person is trustworthy etc. just remember its always a risk vs reward in such a scenario especially when your looking at a single tourny given how we know mtt's can be.

Certainly well profitable however if you can find a good horse that would be willing to run for an extended period of time and volume that has had good results.

Edit: yes my bad, not sure why I didn't point out our staking forum on here as the members below......guess figured you might have already seen it and this was just a general question. duh on me lol

Heya,

We have a staking forum where most of your questions have already been answered in the sticky threads. :)

Staking can be profitable, otherwise it wouldn't be very popular - people would tend to just choose to play instead. Obviously nothing is ever 100% secure, but you can get as close to 100% as possible by researching your horse and not being afraid to ask them (relevant) questions - if they have nothing to hide they should have no problem being open with information (within reason of course). A good starting point on this forum would be to look out for offers from well-respected horses, as per the feedback thread in the staking forum

Go through the Cards Chat staking forum. Look at some of the people who are asking for stakes. They will generally give a place to check on their winnings.

You can check out players via their usernames at:

officialpokerrankings.com

Make sure you understand and agree to ALL the terms of the stake.

Backing the right player can obviously be very profitable. One has to remember that even successful players only cash in about 15% of the tournaments they play in.

Go and find that player, and, good luck to the both of you.

I like to follow the people I have a stake in for the fun of it. They are playing in games I am not able to at the time. Any $$$$ is a bonus to the entertainment,

Hello. I just read the post. If you would like i would be willing to play under their subsidy. I consider myself a good player. My ITM is the 29% in December, 25% in November and 21% in October in Pokerstars and 23% in December at partypoker. In addition I am playing the open league of pokerstars intellipoker and going in the post 151 of 101,000 players. It is a league of buy-ins for free but it is very difficult and competitive.
It's true, I'm playing only microlimits, but I think that the results that I am having are very good to jump. The idea would be to play only the tournaments would own prior. In this moment i have timetables fulltime to the poker. If you are interested in I'm at your disposal. Greetings.

I was just curious about the subject, like I said if it was safe and secure I would anticipate the thought but there is no real guarantee that it would be secure. Maybe after awhile of getting to know someone on the forums, that is well known for staking and being staked I might be willing to work something out with em. well ,cya around
