How long do you think it will take before online poker will be available across the whole us territory. We've already seen good signs with a couple of states. The questions is how long do you think it'll take and do you think this has been the correct way to treat online poker (by shutting it down)? Also if you're from the us, are you looking forward to this, tell us your story! thanks

Not soon enough! It's complete BS that it is still not regulated country-wide. I think it will happen eventually, but probably not for a while. I see about 5 more states legalizing it in the next couple years, and after that I think a nationwide bill will be in the works with states having the ability to opt out.

I am always searching for articles with good news and hoping the process gets sped up, and I am staying optimistic hoping magically it'll be a lot sooner, but what I said above is the way I think it will ultimately work out.

Current industry estimates are ~ 3 years. I think that might even be optimistic based on some of the tribal pushback, etc... we'll see.

America's Cardroom and Bovada are both taking American players.

I know hurry up already. This is money the us government is missing out on anyway. Just tax it and make it legal just like the herb. Lol

I know! i find it bizarre that some pros had to leave the US in order to continue their career. I wonder if they will move back into the states where it will be allowed or will they prefer to continue living outside America.

I would like to see more limit games available. All in Holdem is not for everyone, although I am in a distinct minority.

US Poker sigh

people are still playing in the US but its definitely not how it used to be. I for one leave the country every few months when i have the urge to grind on stars and other sites but most of the time im back in the US spreading my action out to pretty much every single US site that I can play on.... Its tough but you have to adjust. Its not all bad anyways, theres always good rakeback deals and the games are pretty soft to be honest. Blessing in disguise??? maybe.... lol i mean im not trying to chase supernova elite anymore so im much healthier now haha;)

Although we have progress with Nevada, NJ, and Deleware getting Online poker...recently Carbon has banning States and Countries at a rapid pace.

I thought we would be farther along the road to pre BF days by now...

This is not necessarily a bad omen. Rather I believe it reflects recognition of the new paradigm. As 888 has demonstrated that the network model is the way online poker will reach the most operators without splintering the player pool, Merge may be thinking long term and how they may proceed in the US market in the future.

I think we will see more brick and mortar in states faster than online being regulated nation wide.
