I recently pick this up at Borders, and found it to be way to basic for anyone that has played online. Possibly it is meant for someone that has yet to download any poker software. Just my opinion.

There is a small strategy section, but mostly it seems to be an advertisement for "Doyles Room".

I've actually heard multiple people say this about his book. Thanks for the heads up.

I've seen his office on TV.He has 2 monitors for multitabling and has all his wits about him.I think he could soak anyone of us in an online game.

It's kinda like someone who plays madden vs. someone who plays real football.Doyle is the real deal!He already knows all the plays and has seen it all.No small time online donks can show him anything he hasn't seen already.

If I had my choice,I would much rather play anyone here than him in any online game.Just some food for thought is all.

While I agree with you about Online Poker, you have to put the book in context, too. Here, in the technical vastness of the future, you have to remember that when Doyle wrote that book, internet poker rooms were much fewer in number, and not nearly so well populated.

Hey, we all started somewhere, sometime. If I were just starting out playing online, and had not studied up on poker in other than a superficial, general way, there's lots of sound advice in the mix. His tips on BR management alone make it a worthwhile read for a beginner.

Doyle has a book on online poker? Huh, I recall him saying he didn't like online because there's nowhere near as many tells as there is live.

Of course, I'm not too up-to-date(heheh).:)

As much as I like Doyle. I've seen him diss online poker multiple times, yet he has a book about it and his own poker room where he himself endorses with a flash animation when you open the site.
