Sorry to burst your bubble but the US isnt the world.

Online Poker is just as busy as it was before the ban. Plenty of Russian donks out there believe me.

I do feel for you guys though, it does suck.

...so, what does that mean for live games in the U.S.? Is it going to explode with a bunch of young internet punks, who play too fast and loose? Also, I have not played online poker since '06 when the law was originally passed, so if online players fill the card rooms, what do I need to be prepared for?

First off, this isn't anything new, Black Friday was 5 months ago, so the majority of the changes live would have been before now for the people who needed their poker fix.

Also, I have played live for much longer than online, and players live are 10x more loose and passive than the vast majority of online players. Actually, I'd guess that any of the players that are extremely loose online are either:
a. players who would never play in a live setting because they really don't know how to play poker,
or b. live players trying out online poker and keeping up with their terribly loose, call anything to see a flop strategy.

Poker is far from dead, in fact I'm sure poker stars numbers are just as high if not higher these days than when the Americans were on.

Quite often 350k+ people are online.

online

Online poker is not quite dead yet, altho it might be slowly dying in the usa.I am guessing there will always be some sort of place to play online, even tho it might be a site similiar to pitbullpoker.Who was only taking players money, only paying enough to get by,and then disappearing with everyones money.
As things worsen, the likelyhood of this sort of scam sites will be popping up....

Sad that a few can ruin things for people that enjoyed playing on line. I'm still in hopes it will be available to me again one of these days.

When I play at the local Indian casino, the people with online backgrounds usually are far better than the average low limit casino player. The average casino low limit player plays like he does in his home game and usually has more leaks than an old row boat.

Comparing to pokerstars, my packet paisr hit too few sets and flush hit too many times at Carbon poker. Players play flush draw like flush.

Guessing that's the same everywhere (it's the same here anyways)

And the winner is ^ .... let's take this oppurtunity to turn this thread into an 'online poker is rigged thread'!

It only suggests Carbon poker might be rigged not online poker in general.

Online poker is alive and kicking around the whole. For USA, Online poker is in its dark times, but U.S will survive and rejuvenate. Its may have taken a few step back, but its undeniable that online poker will be legalize one day. It a fact.

1. Online poker for the US is dead.

2. OP poses a legitimate question.

3. Does he really deserve a railing?

As someone who always plays live (for real money) I have seen an influx of young idiots since BF. It's really quite a thing of beauty as they ply their bullying technique. Works good on the drunks and call stations. But the rest of us just look at the stack and pounce at the right time.

I don't think you'll have much trouble against them. They have no idea who the sharks and ATM's are, cuz they look at everyone as if their idiots. Pretty easy to sneak up on em. Just give em a cuppla calls and they push. Like little robots.
