I have played in a $50,000 freeroll at Caesers Palace (now Horseshoe) in Indiana. It was a
wsop Circuit Pre-Event Freeroll. Top 3 paid out, something like 1st - $30,000 2nd - $15,000, Third - $5,000. There were 800 people I think that showed up. It was all WSOP rules and blinds. It was really fun, and a great first "casino tournament". I got knocked out in 35th place. Two friends and I went down because our buddy just turned 21, so we wanted to take him to the casino for his first time. We found out they were having this tournament the same day we decided to go, so it was a great "bonus" to get into a free tournament. They play was really good in my opinion, no real donkeys or complete jackasses. The guy that knocked me out was probably in his 80's and they just moved him to the table. It was his turn and he was still trying to get situated (he had been for about 10 minutes now) and the dealer told him he needed to act or they would auto fold him. He said screw it and went all in on my raise, I had AJ if I can remember, and he had 8/5 of clubs, he hit two pair on the flop and I was heartbroken.
