For the few that remember, I won 3rd place in a tourney a couple months ago on pokerstars that put an extra (and unexpected) $4K+ in my br to the previous 240.00 br i had. so i asked all of you to provide me with advice and i definitely appreciated all that everyone provided. here's the original link.

i ended up trying out the $3-5 sng (from my previous 700+ games at $1 sng mixed) for about a week and a half and i've been struggling. i'm now struggling at the $1 sng. maybe it's the inevitable fact of eventually giving up some of your winnings, but that's not what's odd. what's odd is, i also play on full tilt (as "shinng1") and i've had much better luck playing $2-10 regular and matrix tourneys with a $50 br that has gone up to about $85 over 35 or so sngs i've played.

is it normal to have success at one site, but not another? i figured there should be some consistency. for those that play at multiple sites, is it normal to favor one over the other for awhile or do you find that you're doing equally poorly or well at all the sites? has my head gotten too big at pokerstars because of the increased br and just not playing my usual game?

Thats why I have accounts at more than one place. If it just seems I cannot win at one, i switch to another.

Another thing that could be helping you out over at Full Tilt is the fact that the blinds increase at a much slower pace than over on Stars. You also don't have to factor in the ante in Full Tilt's SnG's. All of this allows you more time to wait for better starting hands and doesn't give you the rushed feeling that you have to win a pot like over on Stars.

The blinds at FT SnGs have shorter levels than Stars but they increase in smaller increments. Overall, there really isn't a whole lot of difference between the blind levels at these two sites. This is only for the standard blind levels, idk about turbos :/

You need a lot more time to average out the luck factor. I think if you played say, 100,000 hands at both sites, your results would begin to even out.

The volume played is too low to make out any real trend...
For me it has been the other way around, winning at PS, losing at FT..., but right now Ft is being kind to me...lol
On the other hand..., i dont play all that much either at the moment...

Dude you remind me of me except at a higher stake and win. I turned $2.00 into $30 playing $0.60 and $1.00 sngs, and I hit a downfall of 11 losses in a row and went back down to $20. I got it back up to $30 on heads up cash tables and won a satellite seat to a 3k guaranteed and placed 2nd in the tournament and won $450. Since then I struggle so badly just to win ONE .60 cent sng, yet I placed a couple times in the daily 5k. I just cant seem to win at the sngs anymore..

to tell you truth it should'nt matter were you play poker at, poker is poker and the cards don't change from one site to another, if your finding success at one site vs another then play that site but honestly it should'nt matter every site is built with a random card generator so the only thing that changes are the players not the cards, but truthfully i do like tilt more then stars :D

No difference

Every poker site on the net is the same. Most use the same random number generator, and the only possible difference is the amount of people. So the fact that you are doing better on one site and not the other can have many factors, but off the top of my head i would assume its just timming or the way you played that day. Nothing to do with the sites itself.:deal:

I think its whatever poker site you feel comfortable at you will get better results..
Thats how it is way for me..
For instance at Full tilt i know my way around pretty darn good and have confidence and I have a decent size roll goin on there..

I have better sucess at PS. Haven't played FT in a couple years. It't just the other way around for my wife. Micro sng's are a crapshoot any place you play. Want to move upin stakes when BR will allow it.

I always switch between different sites if i have the impression that I have bad luck on one I play on the other, sometimes I`m doing well on all the sites sometimes its bad and sometimes I`m just tired of online poker and do a break for a couple of days

I tend to agree with dd decker in that if u played more hands on both u would probably even out a little. I play on several sites, 7 I believe, and I do the same thing. I'll run good on FTP and bad on UB or PS, thats just the way it is. That doesnt meen its u or ur style, though it could be, online we play against crazy ppl with crazy styles and u just never know.

What you are experiancing is "variance".The best players in the world go through winning streaks and losing streaks. If you find your variance taking your bankroll down then it is suggested you drop a level and build back up.
It shouldn't matter which site you play but when 1 site is cold it may pay to switch to the other if only to boast your confidance.Don't worry about short term swings,it will work out in the end with good bankroll management and good play.
