I'm rooting for Filippo Candio and Mizrachi. The chip leader never seems to win the main event.

I'm just glad I didn't follow the ME on the internet, its making watching it more fun. But if Mizrachi makes it, I'll root for him just because the look he gave the german guy the other night when he hit runner runner spades to eliminate 2 players including the player of the year, was priceless.

I too want to see the amateur win it or a big name Pro like Mizrachi.

Dont know why but the idea of 8 out of the 9 make a living playing poker makes me pull for the underdog all that more.

Amateurs have won for the last like 7 years. It's about time a pro wins again.

I have to kind of disagree with this, Raymer and Hachem were basically full time poker players, so they could be called pros, just not well known ones. Cada was definitely a young gun online pro, he specialized in HU 50nl I think... but none of them were really well known again.

The main reason I think the announcers say 'no pro has ever won it since 2001!' is because its a marketing scheme to make it seem like amateurs have a really good chance of winning against the pros, and anyone could win. But at the same time they call the ME winner best poker player in the world despite amateurs being the winners... lol, its a bit of a joke imo.

Well anyways, my favorite would have to be Michael Mizrachi, I really wish Hasan Habib didnt go out in 14th, I would be cheering for him all the way. But since he's out, YEAR OF THE MIZRACHIIIIIIIII!!!!!

completely disagree with ya here sorry, everytima a new amateur wins a new star is born, the pros have enough money already , i like to see an unknown make a name for themselves on the biggest stage of all....
