So I just read an article where Mike Sexton states that he thinks the November 9 format of the wsop is 'crap' (my words not his). And I'm inclined to agree with him....I mean, you make the final table of the WSOP why wait over 3months to resume play? There are so many reasons why its a horrible idea....wouuldn't a 3 day break be enough? Your thoughts please....

I think it is a great idea.
It gives the amateurs that got lucky and made it this far to be able to learn from a Pro mentor for only a percentage of their winnings and helps even the field and make for a better game against the polished pros.
I can see Sexton, who is clearly on the side of the pros to complain about the format.

You need luck yes but you do not beat 6500 players with luck alone

you know what though if I am an amateur and I reach the final table without a coach then I wouldn't need a coach to play the final 9 because obviously i was doing fine by myself. Secondly...I am playing well and in a groove then the break just ruins my momentum so on the contrary the break is even better for the pro than the novice

The break gives great exposure for both pros and non pros. The break is probably good for the game long term which is good for Mike Sexton.

Certainly saves me time, no reason to watch the early part & I have better things to do in November than watch a 9 seat SNG.
Kinda like watching a non major golf tourney on CBS, just when it gets interesting they stop broadcasting, so what's the point?

I agree that it break the momentum of your tourney run but everyone is in the same boat I guess.

I think that the FT should be a lockout, with no cellphones etc, so players dont get information on hands from the delayed stream.

I agree with Sexton , the final tables before were more exciting before the november 9 . I also was more of a fan of ESPN's casual coverage , I think they have made the whole production much worse as time goes on . It seems like audiences tend to agree with me .

ive always said that the november 9th date to end the tourney is ridiculous and it all adds up to ways for the house to make more money off the event. i feel the event was started in the most part to bring in customers in the slowest time of year--after all vegas is hotter than hll its in a desert the summer is not the best time to visit. november would never have been a date to finish the tourney if it wasnt for profit made somewhere threw marketing i can only guess without proper knowledge.

but last year i feel it was a fail and have said that the november 9 date was a fail from the start for it made it less interesting for me anyway. As far as what Sexton says i agree on the most part. Oh it might be best to look between the lines there lol for i think a little WPT competition has something to do with what Sexton says well it should anyway! with that said i should point out the best thing for business is competition.
