What are your thoughts on this? I am new to it, just found it on FullTilt and it seems interesting.

It takes the edge off of NL. So many of us, and probably me included, really are not made for NL. Anyone who bitches about the bad beats is not made for NL poker.

Limit gets a bit too rote. I liked what I watched with the cap NL.

I've been playing just a little bit of capped no limit and I like it a lot so far. Not sure why, I just find it easy to win at.

I like the .5-.10 3.00 cap games at FTP, Mavs all it means is you can go all in up to the cap limit, in my case 3.00 max

I like the 6 handed Cap NL and Cap PL .05/.10 tables for Omaha8; it's a semi civilized way to play a very cruel and uncivil game.:_

I've never played that before, that sounds like an interesting way to sort of 'tame' the no limit game.

Kinda ruins the whole 'no limit' point, though, what with there being a limit and all.

Playing with a cap in big stakes games may be an interesting concept. But, playing with a cap in the micros, meaningless. Even at the 1/2 level when opponents didn't hit the flop but have allot of outs or are 4 to the flush etc., and are already half way invested to the cap, will probably stick around eliminating the chase, and bluff, bet. Hence, leading to more suck outs.

Yes, I know capping may be beneficial in some cases, giving medium hands the chance to turn into monsters. But at lower limit games, especially online where most people are already playing against opponents most of the time with deeper pockets, capping could just turn the game into a fish fest.

I'll wait for more posts on outcomes before I even try it at the lower levels.

I never knew this and I never played NL ring games because of the fear of being wiped out in one hand. This changes everything.
