Ok where to start,I recently started playing online poker again, maybe around 4 or 5 months now,the first month i had trouble making deposits with my mastercard and after all the hassle decided to try to build my br out of just freerolls, sadly it has been a roller coaster an enjoyable one at that, but with constant losses, bad beats and rivers my small br of $5,10,20 bucks goes back to zero.

My NYR is to improve my poker in every posible way books, videos and if anynoe wants to give advice or guidance is more than welcome.

Jan 1st ill make my own thread im sure that by the end of 2013 ill have a healthy, lovely bankrolls even if its just a couple hundred anything is better than $0

Well the my poker resolution, whats yours?

my resolution is to move up through the levels at 6max cash, so by the end of the year I should be making regular money.
Take a look at my thread in my signature.

The problem with books and videos is that they cover such a wide range of concepts they can get confusing.

Assuming you are playing at the micros, All you actually need to do is three things:

Betting hands, folding air and taking cheap draws.

That is pretty much enough to win at the micros, oh, with sensible BRM of course.

Then if you win over a big sample doing that, start to add in some extra moves (even though they are not necessary to bat the micros)

For me the best bit of info I read about the game was this.

Play less poker, but with greater 'focus' and 'purpose' EACH time.

Maintain a 'complete record' of each MTT and SnG tournament along with a "lessons learned" for each game played.

Be on a 1st Place League Team and finish as MVP in points.

My very best to all Cardschat members in 2013, Wally

My poker Resolution for nest year would be to become a better player, especially at cash tables, assimilate bad beats in a better way, recognize when I'm on tilt and stop playing or learn to deal with it, and above all, win as much money as possible. :D

Ugh so sick of these post nothing against you but these type of post were a decent part in me not improving my game you should always be looking for ways to exploit your opponents not just playing like a robot yes you should be value betting folding air ect but you can get so much of a bigger edge buy learning new things or improving what you already know.

Thanks for all the replies, i am also looking for some inspiration so im making a new thread in the challenges section i feel i play better under pressure and when i got others trying to reach a same goal as me, it will be a year long challenge to see who can make the most winnings without making a single deposit anyone up for it?

I'm going to be doing something similar as well OP. Going to start with $0 and see how far I can take it playing exclusively freerolls until I can get a big enough BR to start grinding cash. Let's hopefully both make some money in 2013!

Trying not to chase flushes, is a good one, as someone mentioned here already. I agree with that, and trying to just not play when feel "tilted" at all too is a good goal.

Its tough not not chase,I almost put my screenname as Bluffchasing, its a great feeling to win with crap and making them tilt,i only do it on freerolls and if no one raises preflop but i guess those donk days are over for me,time to play TAG.
