And here's "the latest production from National Geographic, Inside Underground Poker"..."Shot in the style of fake-umentaries such as Jersey Shore, the show follows a sub-section of the New York poker scene."

Checked my TV listings--show set to air at 9am ET this Sunday, December 2, on NGC.

For more info, and a trailer: http://www.bluffeurope.com/poker-news/en/Poker-Meets-Jersey-Shore_12645.aspx

Yeah, looks pretty grim. You never know though, people get off on that sort of thing.

Still, I'm hoping against hop for the day when a quality show is produced that accurately presents poker as we know it.

Games are not fun to watch.

The only game I find remotely interesting to watch is Sepak takraw.

oh god this looks horrible and will give poker a terrible name.. just like the "Jersey Shore" made people assume every person in my hometown was like those people

Strange, I liked it. Maybe because I have a lot of NY friends. Or some other disturbance in my mind. Or maybe cause I do hang around a lot of live poker players, maybe you guys don't realize how they act :) In reality, playing live poker can be a dark, low, rough experience due to continually seeing just a ton of LOSING going on and the way it effects people. Playing daily poker can weigh on your mind, especially if you play in the Los Angeles area where people really are superstitious and spooky. I'm sure Commerce Casino is the 1st place to say poker was rigged, fixed, etc. Players yell at dealers, yell at players, fight at times (used to be MUCH more fights), can be a desperate place (like all gambling halls). online poker is a much different experience and tends to shield players from pokers life realities

I see alot of people have commented this seemed fake, yet I have heard from at least one NY person who has played with several of the players in this show. There is no doubt these are real players and the guy organizing the game is a real game runner. Now if it is scripted in some spots, that is possible, but one of my friends says it seems how the games are run but this has a little more drama.

note: Commerce Casino is my favorite card room in US

Watched a little bit of it last night. I couldn't get in to it too much, but my girlfriend really liked it, actually.
