Can anybody enlighten me on the intricacies of the NJ law? Apparently a law of the same sort has been in effect in Nevada since 2011. My main concern really though is, living in Texas, if this will open the door for me to play poker online? and specifically, since pokerstars coming back to the US is inevitable, if I will be able to play Pokerstars if and when it does return.

My belief is the new laws dont apply to Texas, but there are always loopholes and ways to work around that. If anyone with knowledge could give me insight on what's to come, it would be much appreciated.

You know there is a difference between state law and Federal law, right?

No, this, in essence, means nothing for you and will change absolutely nothing in Texas. Nothing will change for you unless there is a Federal law or a Texas state law passed regarding it.

Also, Pokerstars coming back to the US is not inevitable. Right now there is absolutely no guarantee of a Federal bill, and most state bills that are in the works are for intrastate play only(meaning you can only play with other people from the same state that the bill originated in).
