NEW PARTY POKER INFO!

Due to recent events and a small drop-off in the # of players at the site, party poker has completely revamped their tournament structures.

THe starting chips have significantly increased, as well as starting blinds.

Just a heads-up for anyone who plays at Party. Check out their website for more info, there is too much to post here.

I hear many bad beat stories taken place at partypoker. Maybe that's why the number of players on there have decreased.

I think it's because their bonuses have lowered over time and their india-based customer service sux.

Apart from omitting that (I hope it gets sorted soon), the changes seem pretty sweet.

How do you all feel about them charging vig on rebuys? They did this a long time ago and quit. Now they're doing it again. Why would anyone play a rebuy tourney at Party just for this fact alone?

I've actually played on Party a bit today, and experienced the changes first hand as opposed to just reading about them.

Complaints...

- The new lobby is crap - why are Stud/Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo grouped together? Why do filters reset whan I log off and back on?

- After about 30 mins at any more than 1 table, the client starts lagging like a bastard. Never had any problems like this at Stars/FT/etc, and my comp is pretty powerful, so I've come to the conclusion it's because Party suck.

- The new thing that seems to be surfacing about uninstalling/updating Party causing the loss of all image files in the Program Files directory is enough to make me want to stop playing there (not that I play there that often anyway tbh), even though I haven't been affected. There's harmless, almost amusing incompetence, and then there's seriously stupid crap, and if it is down to Party, this is the latter.

- Vig on rebuys? Obviously the $100 zillion Party made last year isn't enough for them. I hope their greed comes back and bites them in the arse.

The thing I find amusing is that people will still continue to play regularly on Party even after this huge debacle.

Last nite I got the new software and joined a 3 table shootout tourny. At the end of the very first hand, the game froze and there was table chat for about HALF AN HOUR about it. After half an hour, I sent an email to PP stating the problem, and that I wanted a refund. At least one other guy at the table said that it was the second time in the nite it happened to him, and that he had joined this tourny because he was waiting for another one to resume which had similarly paused.

Today i get back a response that there was no problem on their end:

"Dear Player,

Thank you for contacting us.

We have done a complete check of our server logs and the connection
status prevailing at the time you reported the problem and we do not see
any disconnection issue rising from our end.

The tournament you were playing in was running fine from our end and
other players at the tables were able to continue with the game normally
without any connection problems.

I also see that while you got disconnected from the tournament you were
able to immediately get in back and play.

The disconnection could have risen due to a network problem over the
Internet connection at that particular time which could have caused you
to lose your connection. The connection between your computer and our
servers is established through several other intermediate servers and
your service provider decides the path taken by the connection. Hence, if
there was a network congestion or disconnection at one of these
intermediate servers, it could cause you to disconnect from the game.

We have researched into this matter thoroughly, and would not be able
to refund you as the money has been awarded to the winners. Please check
our Disconnection Protection and Cancellation Policy for more details:-

When you are disconnected from a table, please log out of the table and
log back in. If this does not work, you will have to log out of the
Lobby completely and log back in, and if you are still not able to play at
the table, you will have to restart your connection.

If you are facing regular disconnections, please contact your Internet
service provider about this problem.

Also, I suggest you to get in touch with your System Administrator to
get more details about the things that is happening as this is not
because of partypoker.com.

Respond and ask them how many hands their logs show as being played at that table during that half hour.

I hate Party's support. It's the reason I don't play there, despite it being a veritable goldmine of fish.

I left "the" Party a while back and every so often i get curious as to if any changes have improved it - but this kind of saves me the effort this time.

All the other sites seem to take little steps to improve areas of their product, but Party get the name everywhere and the basic look and feel remained the same.

Now they try to improve and have gone backwards - poor little shareholders it was such a good deal as well

Not sure what you mean by "free", but check the list of bonuses found at the navigation bar here on CardsChat. If you mean sites that will give you, say, $10 without you having to deposit, then there's not many to be found in the bonuses page. Maybe some other people here know more about those sites than I do, though.

Remember to sign up through this site, as well.

I asked them to send me a copy of the chat log for the table. They have not yet responded at all.

i hate online support
such a pain in the arse i always feel so helpless

I have had some trouble with the new software, i have found it slow and a little iritating (the new design), also the first day the new software was out everytable had 50+ people waiting to join the tables.
