Is ring games! Tried cash games for the first time(10 cents/ 25 cents). I usually play sng' s exclusively. Now during my first ring game, i quickly made $10-$15 bucks. I then ran into trouble and got busted on pocket aces twice. I flopped a full house and he flopped the superior full house, the other i had pocket kings versus pocket aces. So i hit a big wall my first day. Sat down at a couple ring games today and made $50 in profit in about an hour and a half. Played tight and showed a lot of patience and discipline. Slow played the nuts, and was aggressive on the turn/river. Also stacked when i had a set and didn't want to slow play and have a player draw out on a straight or flush. Looking forward to learning more about ring games and becoming more experienced. Might be time to hit the book store and buy some poker books.

Well with a $500, I prolly shouldn't be playing $.10/ $.25 ring games. I will dabble in it for a day or two longer and review my results and assess my play from there. Then maybe go back to $10 sng's or to a lower ring limit.

Here's my favorite hand of the night, won $20. Was feeling good. Villian was a fairly tight player so i am thinking he had TPTK, possibly a spade flush draw as well. He paid me off handsomely.

I get stars to email me the hand histories and then post them here using the hand history converter right?

Create a folder on your computer. I called mine "poker hands"

On Stars, go to Options ==> Instant Hand History Options.

Check the box that says Save My hands History and make sure the path is pointed to your newly created poker hands folder.

This way all your HH's are saved locally and theres no need to mess with emails.

This hand shows how inexperienced you are in cash games. What's up with the min re-raise? Not only you're going to get called 100% of the time, you'll be playing out of position for the entire hand. The flop was perfect, and the likelihood of your opponent hitting it somehow is very high. He can have any 2 pair, a pair and a straight draw, maybe even a set of 10's or jacks or a flush draw. Why not build a pot right now? You re-raised preflop, even though a horrible amount, and you should be in control of the hand. Bet here and hope he gives you action. If he doesn't, oh well, there's always next time. Plus there's a flush draw on the table, you don't want to give a free card that will either leave you drawing dead or kill your action when you have him beat. If you checked, you should usually be check-raising for the same reasons, though you'll usually be given more respect. You were lucky he had KJ and was going to stack here pretty much no matter what, but if a spade or 4 to a straight comes on turn you're losing your customer. With $500 I say move down in limits until you have a better grasp of the game. Trust me, anyone can have a good day and make a few buy-ins in just a few hundred hands, but it never lasts forever and variance will turn it's back on you soon. Move down ASAP unless you can afford to lose your bankroll and deposit more, you'll still be learning and gaining experience.
