Hello guys.

I know I'm new to you, but some good advises it will be great for me.
After a long time away from daily poker(played only casual with small deposits to have some fun) I've decided that's time to go back in action.

So, I will have approx 300$ bankroll in PS to start and plenty of time.
I have excluded myself from playing any casino games, sport games and cash games(I don't wont to destroy my BR in 2 days). And I am thinking of excluding myself from big BI over 10$ in MTT.

Do you have some advises of this thing I'm trying to do?
What kind of MTT should I play? How many of them daily? What limits and what % of my BR to play daily?

Any advice it will be great.

Best regards

Generally speaking you should be playing around a 3 dollar average buy in with your roll to counteract MTT variance. Initially I would recommend small field MTT's with lower variance and smaller prize pools to get back into the swing of MTT play.

If you play a 10 dollar ABI you are likely to go busto on a 300 dollar roll

100 buy ins is the standard that everyone agrees on. But you have to remember to take into account rebuys. It doesnt make sense to enter a rebuy tournament without at least the intention to rebuy if eliminated, as rebuying gives you a greater opportunity to win obviously. But in doing so you could be cutting your bankroll in half, or more without realizing it i.e. 300 bank roll with 3 dollar buy in + 1 rebuy = 50 buy in bankroll. Just something to consider.

I find it interesting that you are considering only playing tourneys, rather than cash games. Too me, cash games make it easier to manage your bankroll and focus on improving your skills. Once you have built up your bankroll, then add tournaments to your game.

In my experience, tournaments add another level of complexity to the game that you might do well to avoid while rebuilding your skill set.

Whichever way you go, I wish you all the best, as long as we are not on the same table. In that case, I hope you always finish second!!

Rebuy tournaments do not mean you need to rebuy if you bust. It can be higher variance because people will play a bit looser, but it can also be a great way to win more hands against looser players. Play a more TAG game until rebuys close, then open up ranges a bit and play more of a LAG style. No reason you can’t play it as a one and done kind of thing though.

You say you have been away for a while, so expect it to take some time to become a winner.

If you want to maximize your profits / minimize your losses, play the lowest buy-in games available, even if you have a million dollar bankroll. If you are beating those games, move up to the next buy-in.

If you are not playing games that you can beat, bankroll is just a measurement of how much longer you can afford to continue to lose money.

That's why I'm thinking of excluding over 10$ BI's.

Thanks for replaying mate.

My advice, play abi 3, if you play multi-table tournaments.

Have fun and enjoy games! You could start from small MTT 's like big 1.10, hot 2.20, and continue increasing the buy in. Then the skies are free!

Thanks guys for replying.
I have study the/my game daily for the last three months and I've found weakness in my game when I had deep runs.So that's the main problem that I have to improve before starting my daily routine of grinding.

Good luck at the tables and may the bad runs never visit us

I dont agree, cash games are harder for new players, you can bust you whole BR in a session, that wont happen playing tournaments unless he goes over the required buy in for his BR.

I needed to do the same thing as you, stop playing casino, because I lose the bankroll in a few minutes! and it takes days to make a good bankroll!

with such a bankroll you need to play tournaments no higher than 2.2 because most low tournaments play with rebuys! good luck with the game
