I think this is the funniest part of the article:

"Although Negreanu managed to win a bit back when Blom turned two pair against his set of sevens (which rivered quads for good measure), he was about to get involved in a hand that left most of the rail wondering if pokerstars really did have a "doom switch***."

Negreanu opened for his standard raise to $300, Blom three-bet to $1,000 and Negreanu called. Blom led out for $1,200 on the 5♥4♥2♥ flop, Negreanu raised to $3,100, Blom shoved and Negreanu called, turning up J♥8♥ for the flopped flush. Blom showed pocket jacks. The board paired with the 5♦ on the turn and in a gut-wrenching three-outer, tripped on the river with the 5♠, the $27,700 pot going to Blom with fives full of jacks. "
ANOTHER ONLINE BAD BEAT!!! LMAO!!!

I thought he would win it eventually. Nobody is unbeatable in a game that involves this much probability.

what Isildur only lost $25,000 compare to $150,000 that Negreanu lost. Isildur is probably laughing about it. If y'all didn't no, but Isildur still hold the record for that biggest amount lost in one day and on the same day he won 150,000 from Negreanu, he also lost a little over 200,000 to another player.

I watched this in the beginning and was appalled at the comments of the railers with the name-calling and such.

Anyone else think that is in bad taste? Both of these guys deserve some respect. Daniel was getting the worst of it.

from what i seen isildur was owning him again until it got down to just one table then negraneau made a great comeback. was under the impression that it was supposed to be 4 tables going the whole time, kind of dissapointed it didn't stay that way, i think isildur lost a big edge just playing 1 table. congrats to daniel but he is still far from equal in this format vs. isildur in the long run.

Those chatrats that diss the pros are permanent nobodies that resent the somebodies that play better. Getting their comments on the screen is like those turkeys at a ball game that make faces when they get their face on camera.

I'm sure both Daniel and Blom turned off their chat-boxes. They are just stupid railers who prob are down a lot of $$$

It wasn't the amount that he won. It was the fact that he won, period, playing VB's game. That would be like VB beating DN in live poker, which I really can't see happening. Yeah, before winning 150k from DN, he was down about 500k for the year, so far.
As for all the ppl bad-mouthing them, that's really pathetic. Only serious freakin losers would go out of their way to say sumthing negative about anybody, let alone 2 poker players that have proven themselves to be worthy of nothing except respect. Anybody that doesn't respect them has no respect for anybody, not even themselves.

idk, personally I think basing one's opinion on who the better player is from the monetary results of just two 2,500 hand sessions is silly.

Also, who played more +EV and who ended up with more money in just 2,500 or 5,000 hands can be very different things. Monetary results in such a small sample size don't really mean all that much. To get a better idea of who played the stronger game, I think we have to look at how the hands played out, and at least try to factor in things such as suckouts in big hands and the like.

One example of this is the Durrr challenge -- Antonius at one point during a 5,000 hand stretch was up $500k against Dwan (1250bb @ $400 per bb). How did that end? Patrik Antonius presumably privately conceded defeat after about 40,000 hands in which he ended up down 5000bb ($2,000,000 @ 40k nl)... I think we can safely say there that Durrr had an edge on Antonius in that format.
