Hey to all other players,
I started playing poker just recently. I never understood the attraction of the game - but now I will do!!! At the moment I am only playing with friends but I want to try online poker soon.
However, I have the feeling that I still have to learn a lot and therefore I am reading a lot in different forums and so on.
What I can not get find was a homepage that has really concise poker tips (e.g what to play with which hand), because it takes a loooot of time to look that up in forums. I googled but only ended up with pages like this for example called spam, but it is NOT what I am looking more. It is just a collection of articles but I can't take a lot of information out of them. There are loads of websites like that out there.
Does any of you have any recommendation concerning a good website with poker tips??
I would be happy about any suggestion.
Thanks,

There are plenty of good topics you can search through. Also, you can always make a post asking specific questions. There are a lot of people here with some great advice to give.

I would suggest that you sign up right away with any of the respected poker sites that CardsChat links to. Just do play money for a while. Work on the Fundamentals. Experement. Watch others. Ask questions here. Check out some of the books that are recommended by the posters here. (my first was Gordon's "Little Green Book")

Best of luck and cards in your quest.

Start playing poker for play money. If you play NL, don't push all-in preflop WITH ANY hand.

Go to a bookstore, and browse the poker books. Get one or more you like.

As you gain more experience, re-read the books, get more books, read more online and, obviously, continue playing online for play money until you have enough confidence to start playing the microlimits.

At play money tables, people play almost every hand. While this is not a correct way to play winning poker, it will give you a sense of the value of hands in different situations.
