I'm playing poker for years, but always it was for fun. Now I am retired and have not enough money to reload poker account every time I'm busted. I used to play various games - NL - it's boring to wait for a good hand, sit and go - you play like a robot, tourneys - fall asleep after few hours. But old fashioned Fix Limit and HU SnG - almost every hand give you action, don't weary and last as long as you wish. But is it possible to mix good play and some learning in such a different games? Or it will be better to focus on only one variant of Holdem?
Need your advice, cause I can't decide by myself.

Hey thanks...I have always enjoyed heads up but never analyzed why...now I know its because in essence you are in every hand (or could be)...as to specializing in only one form or another of poker...IMO you should play the ones you have most success in, have confidence in, and that you enjoy the most...good luck

Ditto ... this Roma.

Additionally, since you are new here on CC, suggest you get ACTIVE and get qualified for playing Cardschat Freerolls, Real Money tournaments and CC Special tournaments ... you won't regret the effort to get qualified to play our games. Review the Cardschat calendar for dates and times.

Also, you may be interested in our Cardschat League play...another way to build on your bankroll. If you need help with any of these suggestions, just pm me.

Hope to see you on the felt soon.

Wally

I think its best to learn one game and stick to it in order to get as good as you can. It's like job specialization. If you want to be the best at something, you must first decide what you are going to be and then try your best to master it. If you know a little bit of everything, it's kinda like knowing nothing in a sense.

and if your an action junkie, like you say you are(you say you like being in alot of hands right?), id go with heads up or 6max cash. there is plenty of action there and i'd also suggest playing as many tables as you feel comfortable playing in order to not get involved with marginal hands due to boredom.

Limited bankroll, best to concentrate on those games you enjoy.

Good luck & welcome to the forum.

The game i enjoy most is HORSE, which is 5 different games. So my advice would be to mix it up. Never boring that way

If you're going broke repeatedly, you're playing above your skill level. Play at a level where you're +EV and move up as your game improves. If you're currently not +EV at the lowest levels, then fix that. It's not hard to become a winning player at the entry levels.
