Hey guys,
S, I have been playing poker for about 3 months now (whoa, has it been that long? Dang!) and I am at a crossroad again. I'm contemplating on whether or not I should play 6-max.
I have been playing almost exclusively FR, and I think my poker adolescence was FR. But I started to wonder a lot about the multi-tabling guys and what the hell are they doing this for. I mean, why the hell would anyone play 20 tables at $2 NL?! I once spoke with a dude who was like 18 or 20 tabling and at the end of his session, so I ask him, "Why the hell don't you move up, dude?"
"-Because I don't want to lose my hard earned money." Whaaat? What money? At $2 NL you can barely be making any money, let alone being afraid of losing it.
So, my question is, should I play more 6-max? Doesn't one become a better and more skillful poker player playing 6-max? Because FR is full of nits who only play premiums and mostly act fit or fold. This isn't poker, this is grinding stones.
I also find that I'm playing a lot looser and more aggressive 6-max, 3 and 4-betting tons more. FR I usually start the session somewhere around 17/15, but quickly go down to 17/7. Pretty weak tight.
6-max, though, is a totally different story. I usually feel like playing poker a lot more than I do when I play FR, because, what is is there to think about when playing FR. When the nit 3-bets you, you fold or call with a small pp. Then when he misses the flop and checks to you you bet to collect his dead money. That's just robotic... it's not real poker.
Anyway, my rant becomes waay to long for the average cc'er to read, so I'm going to stop here and wait for your nice and polite responses.
