drop down to 2nl. You will find that this is the best place to learn how to play online NLHE.
  • Learn to play extremely tight (read: nitty),
  • make your preflop raises 5/6xbb from EP & MP.
  • Unless you are against a maniac fold QQ JJ & AK to a 3bet and shove AA & KK.
  • Only cbet when you are OOP and HU, otherwise check/fold the flop if you missed.
  • If your cbet gets called and you get raised on the turn on a board without obvious draws you need to think about folding single pair hands. Villains at 2nl will check/call flopped sets but bet/raise the turn for value. Even with draws most 2nl players don't know the power of betting & raising as a semi-bluff, they will play them somewhat passively, so that raise means real strength so even your big pairs are probably no good here.
  • If you are drawing and in position (if you are drawing you should almost always have position on your opponent) feel free to take the free turn card if your draw is a combination of backdoor draws+pairs or backdoor+Ace type hands.
  • Don't call large river bets with a single pair unless you have a very good read on opponent. Even if they are bluffing 1/3 of the time their raise is very +EV and you should generally fold.
  • don't bluff much, if at all. Villains will hit make a pair of 4's with their K4 and call you to the river so if you have no showdown strength you are throwing your money away.
  • Because they will call you can make large 3/4 pot to pot sized bets on three streets with good hands like Overpairs, TPTK (usually), 2 pairs and sets. Beware if you get raised though.
  • Practice proper Bankroll management, log 100k hands at 2nl, be patient, try to avoid tilt and review your big winners and losers after eachh session in pokertracker to analyze your play.
  • you know you are playing decently when you are beating the game for 4+BB/100 over 50k hands.

Meh, I think the best place to learn would be 100nl with a good coach watching over you. You probably learn a lot faster and pick up a lot less bad habits than learning at micros.

It's also a hell of a lot more expensive, obviously. But if you can afford it...
