I won a buck from a fun step. Should I enter the fast fifty or go to a cash table? What would be the better play?

$1.00 isn't nearly enough. Keep playing the fun steps and freerolls until you hit like $20. I'm not sure if Carbon has them but once you have $20 you can play the 0.25c sng's. If there aren't 25c sng's you can try and grind up to $40, then you'll have 20BI for cash and you can play 2nl.

Deposit more.

I was going to but they were out of money paks. And I did not feel like driving around to get one. I took it as an omen that I should not deposit today.

I hear that, I was just hoping not to have to keep playing freerolls and funsteps. With all the all ins all the time it is a pain in the ass. And not much fun,,, no pun intended.

Play the lowest stakes of whatever you feel is your strongest game. If you bust, go back to fun steps. No pun intended, nor written.

well have not gone broke yet. Still stepping and freerolling though. Got 12th in freeroll and got a 2.20 coupon but all the stuff you can use the coupon for kinda suck. Kinda let down I would rather have the 2.20 but what ever playing with their money so cant be to bad.

My actual sequence at Carbon. Eventually won a dollar at funsteps - took forever ( in retrospect not worth it). Took that dollar to the .11 pocket cubed NL Holdem tournaments - figured I could enter 9 of these before broke. Eventually cashed in these up to $3. Took that to the $1.10 PLO DON STT. Have money at other sites and have done well with these. Had two chances before going broke. Cashed in the first one and eventually worked my way to $7. After that got tired of playing with scared money and deposited:) .

I can relate the that. I was going to do a deposit today, but now there is no visa option on my deposit page. I do not understand and kinda pissed because I planned on playing today. Now i guess back to the funsteps. What do you think I should play with that 2.20 coupon I got?

Double your money - fold it in half and put it in your pocket.

You've only got one shot with that coupon before back to the minor leagues.
Pick a tournament with the smallest # of starting entrants you can find,
preferably a freezout, to give you the smallest variance to cash. Good luck.
I assume that was a $2.20 coupon?

11c bumblebee room tourneys will give you the most shots per dollar. All in festivals more or less from the start, they dont run for long but if you get a little luck you can win 42cents I think and 18 for 2nd. I'd recommend playing with what you win from the funsteps straight away, Im not sure its worth building it up to more than a few $ before taking on tournaments (fast fifty or bumblebee) perhaps just get $2, then at least you could have a bit of a session. I wouldnt play the funsteps and real money at the same time. If want to play cash then grind a whole buyin first then run like god, you'll need to.

It is a 2.20 satellite coupon, there are more then one kind of 2.20 coupon. So it seem like I only have like 3 to choose from. There is a sng that offers 1 $11 sat coupon for first and $1 cash for second. Then there are I think 2 mtt that offer $11 sat coupon and/or cash if people buy in. But most of the time they get cancelled due to not enough people playing. What would you play?

All I can say is that it has kinda turned me off from playing freerolls As I can get pretty deep on the reg. But to play that long for a POS coupon kinda sucks. They should make just 1 kind of coupon and let you use it where ever. But I find out there are many different kinds.

I agree with all that you have said. The faster I can get away from funsteps and freerolls the better. Hell I was going to just deposit to day but their damn CC processor is down at the moment.

Sorry for the double post I do not know how to double quote.

I would go for the SNG. Lower variance than MTT. If you win the $11 coupon then you will have a lot more choices to use the coupon(and tougher opponents)
If you won the $1, take it the the .11 bumblebee tournaments.

I was thinking the same thing until I saw a mtt where top 10 get a $11 coupon. And right now only 11 people are registered there is still on hour and a half until it starts. But if it stay pretty low might not be a bad bet. What you think?

This reply may be too late, but odds are there will be 150+ people in that MTT by the time it starts. Also, going back to the original SNG - I would rather have the $1 2nd place (bird in the hand) than the $11 coupon 1st place (bird in the bush) when I was trying to build my bankroll. $11 coupon is theoretical money the $1 you can take straight to the .11 bumblebee SNG (lower variance) vs the .11 pocket cubed MTT I used.

Yes my friend you are right. I wish I would have gone with your and my first thought. Busted out somewhere near 40th in that mtt. And yup would have rather had the buck then coupn any way. Maybe that is why I did the stupid thing with the coupon the begin with. I was like oh just play the damn thing already it just a stupid coupon. Oh well

ha ha... I've met someone ^ worse than myself!! Nice!

Oh.. & btw, I was gonna say he should try using an aggressive BRM approach (what do ya think?.. is that in line with where you're goin' with this too?).
I'm waiting patiently for your in-depth report.
