I was browsing the freerolls on full tilt, when one popped up, and was gone in a flash. About 5 minutes later, it came back, and poof it filled up again. The next time, I was ready. I clicked it the instant it popped up, and just barely registered in time. No wonder - there were only 360 seats.

It was a satellite freeroll that gave away full tilt points, enabling you to register for another tournament. It was called ".NET 1-on-1 with Antonius".

My question is, how would I have known this was coming up if I did not happen to be staring at the tournament list? It did not appear under the "announced" section as most of them do. I tried doing a google search for the title, and did not find anything. Is this a full tilt trick to make me spend more time at the computer?

What I do is go to the lobby of the 100 ftp 1 on 1 antonious sattalite and wait for them to pop up there. They come up every 3-5 minutes and I only play the 180 seat games cuz the offer 2 seats to next tourney while the 360 seat games oinly send one peep on to next tourney.

Is there any known schedule for the 180 and 360 person freerolls?

Thanks for the info. The 180 person tournaments consistently fill up in approximately one second (no exaggeration). I just thought I would share my simple strategy (hopefully not too obvious) for having a chance at successful registration.

1. As tripple83 suggested, click on the poker after dark tab.

2. Sort by buy-in, with the triangle pointing up. This means the freerolls will always appear on top.

3. Open one of the 100 Full Tilt Point tournaments, and position your cursor over the "Register" button. Close the window, but DO NOT move your mouse. Use the keyboard shortcut for closing the window. This will ensure that when you open the freeroll window, your cursor will be in the correct place. If your pointer is not directly over the button, you have no chance of making it there in time.

4. The uppermost 100 Full Tilt Point tournament should now be highlighted. Using one hand, hover over the up arrow and enter key on your keyboard, and your mouse button with the other hand.

5. Sit and wait. The instant you see anything appear above the currently highlighted lobby, hit up arrow, enter, click, smoothly but quickly. Usually, by the time it registers your click, it will tell you that the registration is already closed... but I have successfully registered 4-5 times this way.

Two chances to win out of 180. Thanks but no thanks, I pass.

2 chances to win out of 180..yes...but look at the attrition rates for the first 2 minutes...it drops from 180 to around 100 because its an all-in free for all. Since the games start every 3-4 minutes...people can afford to do that.

Its really no different then playing one of the satellites to a satellite to a real tournament. In most of those, for example, the Sunday Brawl, its a 180 person tourney, with only one person getting into a 3500 person tourney, of which , only 40 get entries to the Brawl.

I've won the Antonius once already, and made the final table twice. Instead of playing the round two i'm just cashing them in for full tilt points, which once i have enough i'll buy an entry to a smaller satellite to a real money tournament.

look at the number of players that are currently playing at FT. Sometimes over 60.000 , other times less than 25.000
The less players ,the more time you have to register for these freerolls

I actually enjoy these freerolls. I try to sign up for as many of them as possible, and then just go all-in whenever I get a premium hand.

It all depends on the time of day, but I was once able to get into 9 tournaments at the same time. I had all the tables tiled on my screen, and had to sit inches from my monitor (I have a 12 inch tablet pc).

I've won one, but like PlayedYou73, I took the Full Tilt points instead of the tournament entry to round 2.
