i think this might be a stupid question, mabe already been asked, but i very hungovered and cant be bothered to look through threads lol :)

i can only play 4 tables comfortable, is there anyway to learn how to play much more, i have the problem of bad concentration when playing more than 4 tables.

i would like to play more so i can put more volume in, i had the thought that it might just be my screen is 2 small, but if i put it through my 43inch tv that could help, so basicly is there anyway of getting over the fact that there is to much going on when playing 8-16 tables, it kinda seems way to much to take in at once. but i would like to train my mind to get over the fact that i cant seem to play anymore than 4 tables.

this might just sound stupid lol, mabe just a hangover moment ? lol but any help would be much appreciated

Not a stupid question at all. I have a friend who plays 8 tables mixed tourneys and rings while holding a convo with me, texting on his phone, and surfing facebook or some other social site. I've asked him "How?" and he explains that it's something you get used to and becomes easier as you do.

Maybe try out micro SNGs, something affordable to the roll and play 5 then 6 and so on till you get the hang of it. Think of it as training your mind or giving it a workout for a little while everyday.

It involves practice and aptitude. Not everyone can play the same number of tables effectively no matter how much they practice because we don't all have the same aptitude. But unless we're already at our effective ceiling, we can learn to play more than we do now.

thankyou both sofaking yeah i dont understand how some people can do that aswell you're friends's mind must be on over drive lol, i will give you're idea ago. im gunna start on 5 tables playing 1 dollar sng's and try play more and more.

but at the moment i cant do that due to a challange of mine given to me from pokertron3000, he staked me 20 buyins to play 1dollar sngs, and try play atleast 200 games. he is a very kind man and will return the favour at some point, all it takes is a little trust and i will prove that im very loyal and give back without even saying anything. I will just send back and mabe we can have a good poker/backer relationship. so basicly i cant play to many tables at this point because i need my concentration on the challange :)

after this challange i will put you're advice into action and let you know the results :):):)

I think the problem is on your software, if you could try Table ninja to make your fold or call or all in action faster, then it makes easier to add more table.

anyway, playing more table at a time is just based on how fast you click mouse!

play with whatever amount of tables you feel comfortable, there is no point in playing more tables if you are not wining as much money, or loosing more money, this defeats the purpose of increasing play rate

What I did to learn playing anymore then 4 tables is buy-in to the $1.10 9player or 18 tournaments at a time. Register for more then you think you can handle and this will test your limits. But also increase them. The downside effect to learn this way is it will lower your average buy-in if that is a concern to you at all.

Also if you start at let's say 8 tables and your down to 4 tables. Each table having three or four players left, this is a good stamina and brain workout as game play will be much faster and quicker turns.

Don't push it so hard. As lame as it sounds it actually took me a few months to go from two tables to four. And of course I look back and go WTF was the big deal?

Just add the tables one at a time.

If you are playing 4 atm, then just play 5 for a few days, and once you can manage that play 6. I have played up to 16, not very well though, I tend to limit myself to 9 anymore, 12 when the games are good.

I found that having more than one monitor was a huge help in working more than 4 tables... you can tile them all out and keep your eye on every game instead of having them pop up on you and accidentally clicking something you dont want to! +1 to just adding one more table at a time... when you feel you got 5 down, go to 6 if you want to....

The most I've ever tried to play at once is four tables, because I prefer to try to focus on opponents. While you would think that multiple tables would tend to hinder your ability to do that, the simple fact that you will most likely being playing games of the same type for the same stakes, makes this much easier. You will notice that whether it's cash games or S&Gs that most players will habitually play the same games for the same stakes. For that reason, you will often see alot of the same players at multiple tables. In fact, you might find yourself playing against as few a fifteen to twenty players across four 10 player tables. As you become familiar with the regular players playing for certain stakes, it will make adding tables easier. Then your level of concentration becomes a key factor.

just blows my mind watching peeps do this extensive multitabling.my cousin is the same way, 2 -32inch tvs with 8 games each, text, phone and the wife and kids running in circles too, lmao. i find it much easier to be able to take notes etc with just 2 tables but have wondered off to atleast 4-6 but i guess multitasking isnt one of my better traits.i would say best advice said above is the way to go.start adding a table as you get more comfortable with your play.best of luck as you go. thumbsup......

Black Friday sure did gum this up though for U.S. players. Damn near impossible to get more than 4 tables going unless you mix up games considerably (which I would rather not be doing).

I meant that as going up one table at a time so if 4 is good then play 5, when you can handle 5 easily play 6 and so on.

We just run on multiple sites at the same time. Haven't done it yet but I have two computers side by side and could play two Merge accounts at the same time. Just not together like same tourney or ring. So the potential is there for me to run 12 or more if I can teach myself to handle playing that many.

Can't run two Merge accounts at the same time. If I have Carbon open and try open Black Chip I get the message that it can't happen.

He could certainly get plenty of action with just 2 tables by calling more hands and re-raising more pre flops. Sure 6-8 tabling works for some folks and is really fun but sometimes it is nice to concentrate on one tournament instead of 7 ring games. But of course if you have 7 rings open in high stakes 5/10 or higher, chances are you're doing pretty darn good with your br and know what you're doing. If you're playing 7 100NL buyins and are a amateur player I think it's better to do 2-4 tables until you can afford to lose a few days straight. I think most players that want to become pro put a lot of money down before testing the waters and lose even though they might have what it would have taken to make it. I agree with a lot of what people said about taking it one more table at a time.

Hence the reason I said I have two computers side by side.

Still the same IP

Pretty sure the client doesn't restrict you by IP. It's a local process check since all Merge clients use the same process name -- when client #2 starts it checks for and detects client #1 running and refuses to start. Using 2 computers the processes can't see each other.

The IP issue might show up and cause questions upon withdrawal, but I want to say I remember a Merge skin rep saying one time that as long as no funny business is going on (both in same games, etc.) they won't mind. Can't swear to it though.

Might be worth asking them just to get clearance. That's what I did with both PS and FT when my wife created accounts and wanted to play, sometimes at the same time as me. They were fine with it as long as we abided by the rules against playing with each other in the same ring or STT games. I think they even let you play in the same MTT though as I recall.
